Default How do you make your headers bold???

Hi Fellow Warriors,

I have finally learned how to make HTML symbols for my subject lines, but I still can't figure out how to make them bold. And clearly it's possible since lots of you all are doing it.

Would someone please tell the rest of us the big secret?

Thanks so much.

Elisabeth

I thought the bold subject lines are simply the ones that you haven't yet read.

Elisabeth, I think it is because you have not read the threads that are bold. Try clicking it and then going back and hitting f5 for a refresh and see if it is still bold.

I hope this is what you mean!

Well... I checked and experimented a bit.

it used to work that way, I think. BUT now it doesn't anymore.

There are lots of threads I haven't read that are not bold, and lots of bold ones that I HAVE read that remain bold no matter what.

I want to make mine bold too!

So is there anybody out there who will disclose this apparently very well-kept secret?

Thanks a bunch.

Elisabeth

Not sure if the fixed bold subject line attribute exists -- I think it's just what you have not clicked on yet. But look at it this way, do the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Perhaps you want your title to not be bold to stand out.

Basically a post title will only appear bold if you haven't clicked/visited it, once you have clicked on it a tiny temporary cookie is stored on your computer and when you revisit that page it wont appear in bold because you have already visited it...get it?

These cookies get cleared automatically sometimes after a delay so it may appear bold later on again.

There's no secret, Elisabeth - just as said before, they are bold when unread and then normal when read.

At least mine always go that way. And by the looks of things, at the moment, I am reading FAR TOO MANY - must get on with some work.

Kind Regards
Auntie Jo

Are you talking about making your title bold for your WSO?

Yes! Thanks, Rannie.

I guess I should have mentioned that. Apparently, there are different rules for regular postings and WSOs.

So let me rephrase this: How can I make my WSO header bold?

Thanks so much.

Elisabeth, the same rules apply for WSO's, they are bold if you haven't viewed the thread, once you view it, it changes to normal text.

It's just like how the visited links system works... once you visit a link in google, it changes from blue to purple, showing that you have visited that link.

Same thing goes here, for any thread, in any category, it's bold until you click it, then it's just normal text ON YOUR COMPUTER ONLY...

Delete your cookies/temp internet files, and everything will go back to bold for you...

Hope that clears it up for you,

- Jared
