Amazon & Overstock Pull Affiliate Programs out of Illinois

The online retailer has decided to end ties with websites in Illinois that sell Amazon goods through advertising links. This doesn't mean that you won't be able to shop Amazon.com in Illinois -- far from it. But if you are trying to make a living, or even part of a living, by selling items on Amazon through your own website or blog, you're going to have to find somewhere else to do it.

Amazon's not alone in this fight. Overstock.com also is terminating links to its affiliates in Illinois. The argument is over whether a business with no physical presence in a state should be subject to its taxes.

So they pulled the program in the entire state because someone was breaking the rules of the system?

I find that difficult to believe.

I think you read the wrong article. LOL.

This is over a state sales tax dispute.
