Is Internet Marketing Killing The Internet

hi all,

im not meaning to cause an argument here, just after your honest opinions.

I know we all throw up sites and work on the to make sure they rank well on google in the hope that we can make some money off of them by pushing products.

The reason im asking is because a couple of days i was doing a basic internet search to try to find out some information about something, i forget what it was now, but all i could find were sites with clearly false reviews of products trying to sell them to me. I know a lot of people are out there looking to make a purchase, but when your trying to do a bit of research it can be a nightmare.

Anyways before i go on for too long, just curious as to your views

I agree with you. There are many, many so called "marketers" out there cluttering up the the internet with blatant lies and promises of quick riches. This is not only cluttering the internet with junk but it also makes a bad name for hard-working folks trying to make an honest dollar while providing good content that folks are searching for.

I have been quietly working in the Internet Marketing industry for over 10 years and have become an expert in driving traffic and SEO tactics. I have a new site all about niche marketers and I would love for you to check it out. Don't worry, this site is all about free content, not a sales page.

I miss searching for something, clicking on the first link in the results, and actually being able to rely on it giving me the information I was looking for.

Internet Marketing is just one small component of the Internet. The Internet is so huge, there is no way just one small component such as Internet Marketing bring it down. May the Internet Be Forever!

but Google does a great job by filtering unnecessary results, all you have to do to narrow your search, is to give as much details as you possibly can.

Do you expect them to stay in business for long? Believe it or not, word of mouth on the Internet travels fast.

It pretty much ruined Google, that's for sure. But at least Google is fighting back.

It certainly hasn't "killed the Internet," because there are always more and more channels of interpersonal communication that provide non-SEO ways of learning about and finding information.

People make false claims, inflate their earnings, buy traffic and fans. All of it for money. But the most poplar sites are the one with real content, I hope you agree.

what you say does make sense, but with that said, if jo public searches on the internet, they dont necessarily know when they've clicked on one of these popular sites, i've been researching IM for nearly a year now, and i still find myself reading the same article over and over on the first 7-8 google results

i see exactly where the OP is coming from here, this is precisely what put me OFF doing IM for a long time - i regarded it all spam. but it's not true, there is a lot of balanced, quality content out there and thankfully i think this new G algo update has cottoned onto it.

Internet Marketing, on the whole, is not spoiling the internet. It is a small bunch of marketers who target every keyword and hope to make a sale from it. An internet marketer should be smart enough to differentiate between those keywords which will convert from those which won't. If a keyword clearly indicates that its searchers seek free information then it is not logical to work hard and achieve a ranking for it.

    Keyword research is highly significant.
Many people overlook it as soon as they find that their niche has considerable searches every month.

If you want to research things, use bing. I don't see alot of false reviews and people trying to sell product there.
