Question about Adwords

I have a very high converting sales page that converts to the ratio of 1:10 people that make a purchase. Would it be worth my time in setting up a campaign on Google Adwords to promote my website. I am on a limited budget and would only be able to spent $5 a day. If anyone could shed some light on this that would be great.

Proving your page really does have a 10% conversion rate (seems very high) and providing you can replicate that with your PPC campaign (not necessarily true) then yes - you can get some conversions from PPC for a $5 budget. I'd recommend you set your CPCs very low, so your $5 actually gets you some clicks - say 10c:

    $5 / 10c = 50 clicks per day.

At a 10% conversion rate that would give you 5 conversions at a cost per conversion of $1 each.

However I'd reiterate - I doubt you're really getting a 10% conversion rate, or if you are, it's because your traffic is very high. Most sites get around a 2% conversion rate overall (depending on niche), so if you're lucky you'll get 1 conversion every day from your $5 spend.

But if you do end up getting conversions, why stick to $5? If your PPC is making money you could be spending $50k per day and not notice it, as long as it's generating $60k in revenue!

The best solution would be to allocate a $100 budget (say) and try it out for a period and see what you get. Although $5 per day is possible, it's going to be hard to optimise and work out what's working or not.

I just wanted to point out you would get much better responses if you moved the thread to the ppc section. This is the section on this forum of the members who actually use ppc ad clients and have very good luck doing so. So I would suggest you look into getting this thread over there. Besides that I heard that soon the mods will start killing post like this in the wrong section of the forum. So I advise you to get it over to the ppc section.
