So What Makes The Warriorforum So Addicting?

Ok don't get me wrong, I love the WF. Particularly when I'm not focused on working on a project, I like to get ideas from visiting the forum. I also love the great discounts at the specials forum.

But we all know spending TOO much time on any forum is bad for business. So why do we do it?

I've been in contact with at least a dozen or so other internet marketers in the past month that can't seem to "get away" from the forum. So what's your reason for always being around here?

Is it to get some helpful advice? To socialize with friends? To find out new ways to make money? To sincerely help others?

Probably all of the above and more. There's really no point in this thread other than to get you thinking about WHY you visit the forum so much. Figure out if it's in line with your goals and if it's actually HELPING your business.

Again, the Warriorforum rocks! We just need to make sure we're using it to our utmost advantage ..whether socially or economically. So at the end of the day - we're better Internet Marketers ;-)

I think because it's very fast moving. Unlike other internet marketing forums out there:

    1) The content is quite high quality - few spammers at the moment
    2) You get a reply to your posts almost instantly.

However I would LOVE to see RSS feeds so that I don't have to remember to check back at the forum itself to keep up with the boards I'm interested in.

You get addicted to the thought of success. The warrior forum is full of successful people and so much information that could create you millions of dollars it's ridiculous.

The problem is no one wants to do that actual work...they just like to think about the possibilities....so they stick to reading the forum's next awesome method instead of trying one.

      Awesome post, couldn't agree more.

It is amazing as well that if you put in half of the work you THINK you would have to you can see some awesome results.

I cannot thank the Warrior forum enough as it is where I started as a newbie asking for help - to think how far I have come since then is also amazing (to me).

I do get roped into thinking about the next BIG thing that will make me a millionaire and realize it is all the LITTLE things put together that will make this happen.

RSS Feeds is definitely a must when it comes to sifting through the new posts at the WF.

You can use dapper.net to create your own feeds of the exact forum you want feeds for.

I've created one for the WSO forum here: WSO Rss Feed

I made this over a year ago so I forgot how I actually created it other than going to dapper and following the instructions. I'm sure you can figure it out though.

    I use it because:
-I like to find out what other people's issues are and keep updated on News
-to try to help out others who really need it
-to learn new ways of adding to my income stream
-a few more things that are undisclosed....

Thanks, Mike. I'm sure it wasn't the OP's intention, but this thread was starting to look a little one-sided.

Of course, there's plenty to be gained from the forum. But the real attraction is the manner in which so many experienced marketers willingly give their time to help and advise the newer members - often without an obvious immediate payback to themselves.

To get the best out of the forum, consider what you can contribute.

@petelta - Couldn't agree with you more! I guess that's what I wanted to stir up in the minds of WF'ers. Don't get sucked into the trap of finding the next hottest thing in IM.

@Frank - Of course not my intention to have this thread being one sided. Though not exactly sure what you mean. This forum is filled with tons of newbies looking for help. But we must not forget they need to make sure they're asking help for things that MATTER, right? I guess that was a big point I was trying to make.

I'd recommend not spending to much time on WarriorForum.

It can be a big distraction at time. You need the self discipline to walk away from it.

Personally, I don't spend a lot of time on forums. I have a business to run. My business consumes most of my time and energy, and pays the bills. So that's always my top priority. I pop in, make my posts and then I'm gone. It's all about self-discipline.

By the way, the Warrior Forum doesn't have an exclusive on addictiveness. I think all forums are addictive by their very nature - if you allow them to be. Here's an interesting article related to the topic we're discussing.

I agree that time is needed to run a business but these forums are a good way to get your name out there.

I think that a strength of the warrior forum is the fact that it is really active. Coming and seeing new threads could lead to think that there is perhaps something new to learn.

For me, it's a few things...

Being able to help others, finding loads of new information I can use, learning something new, and just the talk in general.

It's just a cool thing.... helpful in just about any and every way possible.

It is helpful in a lot of ways. I really agree. Everyone here is trying to achieve the same purpose.
