Newb that needs some direction, is super overwhelmed, and needs your help!

Hey fellow warriors,
I'm in need of some direction. I've dedicated about 14 hours in the past 2 days reading the forums, and I've gotten information overload and feel like I'm completely lost in a black hole. I'm a first year school teacher (and also coach 3 sports) who is looking to make a few extra dollars, while having fun and doing it first through a passion of mine which is the guitar. I started a very raw blog back in December and have tried to add to it continually. Now I'm at a road block and don't know what to do. How do I monetize this site? What route do I take, and what are those steps? If someone has a few minutes of their time to help a new guy out, I'd really appreciate it! I need to get over this plateau I've reached.

    How much traffic is coming from organic search results? If little to none, then you should be focusing on that, getting ranked higher for certain keywods. Start learning a bit of SEO and integrate adsense on your site.

    I'm not getting much traffic to my website. However the upside is I have 12,000 views on Youtube for 18 videos. I'm trying to figure out how to convert more of those YTube views to website views. SEO is blowing my mind, I'll read something in one place, and then something else another place. If you have something that will help me get a good grasp on beginners SEO let me know.
