Get paypal to deliver products

Hi,

I'm about to launch my site and I'm trying to figure out how to get paid (which i believe is one of the most important parts ).

I've registered a paypal account and I've managed to get the "buy" button to work, but when the customer has paid they don't get any products.

How do I add (digital) product delivery for the customers in the payment process?

Thanks

Paypal can't deliver products for you. You need to use either a remote solution such as e-junkie or manage the downloads on your site with dlguard kind of solution

You can do it indirectly with PayPal. When setting up your button, look through all the advanced options. There's an option there to redirect them to a page on your website after payment is complete.

What you'd do is set up a page on your website that linked to the download page, and put this URL into your button settings.

This is good for a simple solution but not as secure as the methods mentioned above. e-Junkie is only $5 a month though you can get a free trial and there are plenty of coupon codes around the net to help you extend that free trial if you want to save money for a while.

I tend to agree with Ruth. If your customers are not getting the product after they bought it, the main reason is you didn't set this process up within your paypal account. Go back to your paypal account, check some advanced options....you will surely find find a link that will guide you in setting this up. Hope this will help.

Alright, so it is possible to do it indirectly then. However, as you mentioned it doesn't seem that secure. Wouldn't people be able to access the page quite easily without paying?

Yeah, I've starting to realise that e-junkie is one of the better solutions out there. Where do I get these coupons you speak of?

The best way is to use a digital delivery system like MyDD, Dlguard and there is a free one, smartdd which looks like it's not available at the moment, whilst they do some updates.

Another alternative is to use your email program to deliver the product, or set up an autoresponder which looks for "notification of payment from..." and then automatically responds.
I personally would go with something like dlguard or MyDD if you have a bit of cash to spare
Getting the autoresponder to deliver the product seems actually like an attractive solution. Perhaps I should look into that.

The best option is to use Ejunkie. It is smart, easy and hassle free.
Also u said you have registered a PayPal account recently, Be sure to don't accept large payments or you will get limited soon (Because your PP account is new and PP is well known for it's horror story about account limitations and banning).

Okay, so e-junkie doesn't work independently from PayPal? You need to link up your PayPal account to E-junkie? Yeah, I've heard that PayPal can be a bit of bitch. See that's where I and PayPal differ - I would love to get large payments Would they freeze the account even if one were to talk to them before a product launch and a potential payment might take place?

Are there any good alternatives to PayPal?

In my opinion, get an E-Junkie account first. (Ejunkieie is not any kind of payment processor. It is just a payment gateway.)

Then add your PayPal as well as 2Checkout account with it.
By this way you can sell both with PP or 2CO. In terms of Brand value 2CO is better then Authorize.net. So I recommend 2CO if u want a merchant account. Because after PayPal people trust 2CO the most, So it never hurts your conversions.
And leave everything else on e-junkie. He will take care of everything else from product delivery to Affiliate Tracking.

        {But let's say I get e-junkie, and I hook that up with paypal, is the threat of them freezing my account still the same? }
Some of the advantages of using Payment gateways like E-Junkie is that is hides your domain info from PayPal. So there are less chances of getting limited or banned then normal (unless you got lots of refunds).

If you use DLGuard, you can use your own merchant account with Authorize(dot)net as the payment gateway.

Of course, you will have to apply for a merchant account, and they will in turn need to set up your payment gateway with Authorize(dot)net. However, since your merchant account will be with an actual bank, you will not have the problems which are typical of PayPal.

I am speaking from personal experience. I had to leave PayPal, set up my own merchant account, and have them set up an account with Authorize(dot)net. I am able to use DLGuard with Authorize(dot)net, and have not had any problems since.

    Hopefully this helps.

Thanks for the replay, it cleared up a few things!

But let's say I get e-junkie, and I hook that up with paypal, is the threat of them freezing my account still the same?

And I have also heard about Powerpay - Is that something worth considering?

E-junkie is not a payment processor, so it'll not make a difference in the threat of your account being potentially frozen by Paypal.

    Hello,

The truth is that so long as you are using a PayPal account, you are still running the same risks that you are concerned about.

I also have to respectfully disagree somewhat with what "vishalduggal" said regarding Authorize(dot)net vs. 2CO.

Authorize(dot)net essentially allows you to use your own merchant account on the Internet as it is a gateway. Overall, this is a much less expensive option that either PayPal or 2CO. If you plan to use DLGuard, and not pay a monthly fee, I strongly recommend going the Authorize(dot)net route due to the fact that transaction fees lower than the alternatives, and your merchant account is issued by an actual bank.

I am 100% agree with you, But I am talking about conversions here. Maybe I am wrong, But Authorize.net doesn't have any option for customers to pay through PayPal, But 2CO has.
What I am saying is that you will not loose your conversions by using 2CO instead of PayPal.

I use 2checkout because my customers then still have the option of paying through Paypal but it's not using my own Paypal account. Instead it goes through 2CO's Paypal account so there is no risk to my own Paypal account.

I have my products set up with DLGuard also which you can integrate with 2CO, I choose to use DLGuard for the extra security for my products. It is possible to use 2CO on it's own without DLGuard to delivery your products.

There are a lot of payment gateway if you use paypal, like Paydotcom, Click2Sell, Clickbank, Payloadz, you just need to put your paypal email and enter the products download URL.

You can also setup your own affiliate programs using the Payment gateway above, this can bring more sales and exposure for your products.

Oh man, thanks for all the answers guys, very generous!

Authorize.net works only if you have an american bank right? Because I'm Europe.

Alright, to conclude - a wise choice would be 2CO and E-junkie then?

Yes! Right now you can't choose anything better then this. Get a 2CO account and integrate it with E-Junkie.
