Do you use Facebook to build a list???

Hello fellow warriors,

I'm wondering if any of you have been using facebook to build your list? I know some people create a facebook fan page and get a bunch of people to "like" it either by employing facebook ads or by adding friends and administrators of major fan pages.

Has this tactic worked for you?

I know with the fan pages you can send an update to your fans. However, unlike aweber there is no way to track the data.

Is there a way to insert a squeeze page in your fan page?

    There are a couple ways to insert a squeeze into your fan page, the most common type is the "Facebook Reveal" where users who visit a page that have not already liked it are presented an ad asking them to "like" the page to see more. if they dont like it, they dont get o see the rest of the content.

    The other way I know of is to embed your autoresponder code in Facebook and try to capture the email..

    In my experience the reveal tab works really well, its harder to get people to give you their emails...

    it's better if you have 2 kind of offer, 1st offer force people to like you fanpages, and then, you can put squeeze page inside, offering another ebook/ecourse/etc.

    I make some scripts that can be implemented in your facebook easily. include the fans/unfans and squeeze page. it's not as hard as you think. comes with nice templates. you can see through my signature.

    anyway, it's better to create an event with some prize if you want to have much more fans in short time, combine with facebook ads, it'll be faster.

    and in my opinion, design does matter.

    If you arent using Facebook to build a list you are missing a trick. However Remember that Facebook is Social Media so it isnt really about building a list, it just so happens that done right you will build a list.

    And its not just about the FanPage either, although they are important and getting increasingly so.

    I am wondering if you do believe having a facebook fan page and building a list via facebook is actually EFFECTIVE?

    I know it is relatively easy but is at as EFFECTIVE as doing it the traditional route (standard opt-in page with traffic from Google, ideally from BUYING keywords).

    Have you guys seen good results?

      Having Facebook Fan page is a great and effective way to build your list. They pretty much narrow down the demographic targets for you so you don't have to go out there researching on your own. Prob be hard at first once you starting it out and designing the page but once you got everything set up the list will just keep growing more and more.

      Do both traditional route and facebook page!

    I get a lot of people on my list from Facebook. It is effective for me as I share a lot of free content with people and interact with the people who reply to my posts.

    I think this is the key with facebook, as I doubt that people are sitting on there with credit card in hand to buy. But if they like you, they will interact with you and want to find out more about you. Then, those interested in your business will probably join your list.

    It does help now and again to remind people of course that you actually have a list. Although people coming to your page will be going to a default squeeze page (if you have set this up correctly), they won't all RUSH to join your list.

    It's even better now as you interact with people as your fan page now, which is an even better way to drive people to your business page..

    I find by building your presence on Facebook, you initiate interest in YOU, you then build that relationship into TRUST, if they trust you, they will join your list and some will BUY!

    That's my experience anyway, I hope this helps.

    The great thing is people are actually checking there accounts everyday.

    My list building is done solely with Facebook (and it's working wonders!).

    I'm using the "Connect with Facebook" button on my squeeze pages that integrates with my mailing list script - this is giving me there full name and primary e-mail address. There's a few scripts that do this and one of them is my custom solution listed in my sigfile!

    It's a really great way to use Facebook to help list build!

    You can use your fan page to build your list and you can easily insert a squeeze page in it that people would add their name and email to get the free gift that you are offering, I'm using this method and I have added a squeeze page in my fan page and the best of it is that I connected this squeeze page with my list in aweber, in this case I will see who has entered my list and will be sending them emails through aweber ( I added them both to the same list and the same emails to be sent for both of them to save time ) ..

    Absolutely. Facebook is great for building list. Now it has become much better with iFrame.

    You can now build websites and not just one fanpage on Facebook.
