wordpress or my webiste?

i know they would both mean the same thing

but im wondering if i should use wordpress

i personally would rather make a website through dreamweaver or webpage maker

but a lot of people make their sites through wordpress

i guess what im trying to figure out, what are the benefits from creating a wordpress that you couldn't get from a reg. website? beside the fact that people can make comments.

Idk. something I've been wondering about:confused:

The short answer is plugins and flexibility. Not to mention the custom themes that you can apply to it. If you like to build in Dreamweaver or whatever, you should use Wordpress as your foundation then use Dreamweaver or whatever to make yourself a custom theme. Then you have the best of both worlds

I know how to use Dreamweaver (not a master) but I prefer Wordpress. There are a lot of really customizable themes that you can create your own graphics for and make the blog look exactly the way you want to.

Even if you have a static site, you can install wordpress on a subdomain such as blog.website.com and then you can have both.

The stickiness factor of a blog is a big help... assuming you create great content that people discuss and share.

I enjoy using wordpress because its very versatile and you can customize it anyway you want if you're familiar with PHP codings. But even if you don't know a lot about php you can still get by with wordpress since there are already templates that are available for free.

Up until about a year ago I did all my sites on dreamweaver...

But now with all the different themes available ( I own at least ten premium themes) you can make wordpress do anything, and I do mean anything.

with how fast wordpress is, and its easy learning curve I would start making all my sites with wordpress. It's what I have done, and I do not regret it one bit!

i knew everyone was a fan of wordpress

i will probably do both for the same domain

i'll use wordpress for the subdomain, so here is where im a little confused

if my site was zena.com then my subdomain for the wordpress would be
            blog.zena.com ?
            is that right?

            or blog.zena.com/page2html ?

I will go with Wordpress. Not because it makes it easy to create a website but also because it is also easy to update a website using wordpress rather than some website on pure html or php using dreamweaver or frontpage.

Wordpress will provide a lot of options with plugins. You also might want to consider blogspot which is free and offers many options also. You can set up your first post as a static page and continue to post. You can also do the same with WP.
