Here's a piece of advice: When entering a new community, to sell or to meet, read a lot first, offer advice or at least commentary, and get the lay of the land.

It's always a good idea to offer something before asking for something.

    Good luck. *smiles*

    Hello Newbie,

You are welcomed to the world of internet marketing or business.
It is not a a get rich quick program rather it is a business and skill
which you must take your time to learn.

There are several online business and you can easily be distracted
with many offers, therefore pick one and stick to it. In other words,
focus on a particular form of online business until you see success.

Above all, do not respond to many offers or do not spend money in
buying all the materials that promise you heaven and earth.

    Goodluck.

one thing that helped me is focus on one model, learn it, implement it, test it and then move onto the next skill to help you improve your current marketing.

I totally agree. You should focus on one thing and do that then move on to another thing and do that as long as you finish each project!

This is the reason I like this forum. Also, being new it is great to meet people that know what I am talking about. Some times you feel out of the loop stareing at this screen all day. I use a mind map to actually get things out of my head and in front of me so I don't forget important steps and to focus on what I am doing. This way helps me not get side tracked by other things or ideas. I can put those things on the map for later that way I don't forget them but i don't have to think about them either. its on the map so I can get to it.

Do you know what you want to do? The world of I.M. is pretty vast. You can pretty much specialize in just a couple of things and do quite well.

Do you have a mentor to help you move quickly and swiftly through the IM world?

A lot of stuff to learn and implement. There are necessary skills to learn to move this

process a long smoothly. There is also the information overload syndrome. Too much time learning heaps of valuable information, however its a killer of time.

A mentor has helped me to put things in a proper perspective for example concentrating on one thing at a time.

It sounds like what you did, was learn to spam. All that will do is get a lot of your accounts banned. People do not respond well to spam. I visited your site, and it is no better. Just tons of ads everywhere. Very messy, and no content. Just affiliate ad spam. Even if people visit your site through spam tactics, they will immediately click away.

You were mislead. Spam is a poor approach to Internet Marketing. You've come to the right place if you really want to get serious about it, but you need to completely change what you are doing now.

Dig in and start reading. There is tons of good info here.

If you want a short cut to marketing success and you have the funds to do it, pay for good marketing. If I could start all over again I would have just paid for quality marketing instead on wasting money the next big thing...

Learn some fundamental marketing skills as well and get a good mentor.

      My advice!

From the looks you have the answer to the traffic issue many people face, work on your conversion... and maybe learning to contribute to the community here before slapping up your your faked sig link.

I do wonder how many fully read the post and missed that, lol.

If you have a partner make sure they know what your doing.
I involve my wife even though she doesn't understand any of what i do.

When my friend got into IM his wife thought he was watching porn all night and they had an awesome 'barney' at a bbq. He hadn't told her his plans as the extra cash was going to be a surprise.

We got a surprise all right when she yelled "at least I don't watch porn all Night"

Communicate with your family etc so they know your trying to better yourself, Not get the world's biggest collection of adult films or something.

    Cheers

I'm also a newbie, and 2 of the things that jumped out at me while going through some of the replies is 1) Find a Mentor, and 2) Stick to one thing, master it, and then move on to the next.

Both are good reminders for myself. I found myself a Sales Mentor/Coach. I used to be terrified of picking up the phone and calling people, and after implementing just a few of his strategies and systems, I managed to accomplish more in just a few days then I did all of last year.

In the I.M field, I've decided to focus on Video Marketing as I'm an Actor and I've worked in the TV/Film Industry for the past 10 years, and it's an area that I'm very familiar with.

I'd suggest doing the same. Starting off in an area that your familiar with, and finding a Coach/Mentor.

        Here is another Newbie
The same 2 things jumped out on me but I struggle to find a (Sales) Mentor/Coach, because who do you trust and what can you afford? What are the (reasonable) upper-lower limits for this?

The thing I'm familiar with is IT and Telecommunications, not realy area's I feel are good for IM to be in (i'm more a technical type then a marketing one)

    Hey noob,

First, you need to possess or attain a creative state of mind to succeed in internet marketing. Second, you must always be open-minded and think logically.

    Thanks,

The biggest piece of advice I could give a newbie here is not to just jump into every niche, every strategy, every business plan, every WSO etc...

Definitely sample a few things that you show genuine interest in, but it's so easy to get pulled into the highly refined ad-copy and end up with 40 different products, each of which is teaching you something different, to head in a different direction.

If you do this, you'll end up stuck having to pick what to do, which as a newbie with no idea of which is easiest, which is most time consuming, which takes the most capital... Is hard to pick.

... So you end up taking no action and burning out.

Pick a few ideas you really like and roll with it. Don't take shortcuts in either your learning or your business and eventually you'll have a solid base that you can start adding new features/ideas to.

I suppose in summary; HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF FOCUS TO START OFF.

PS: Also, don't just throw links at the Warrior Forum, this is really not a forum to get easy click-through's from.

    PPS: (read below)
