What do you do when a JV partner does NOT fulfill his promise?

Before anything else, I have to say I love joint ventures and I love my JV partners. JV is still, in my opinion, the most powerful form of promotion. Most of my JV partners are awesome to work with, but there are a few who did NOT fulfill their part of the deal.

A few months back, I got a JV partner who promised to reciprocate if I promote his product. He's always been able to receive my emails and reply to them BEFORE I promoted his product. But when it's time for him to promote my offer, he didn't do it. I emailed him on two of his emails using 3 of my emails, no reply. Tried to call him, the voice message answered.

And then today, a different JV partner is supposed to promote for me. But I got a promotional email from him today promoting another product.

Has anything like this happened to you? How did you handle it?

Despite everything, the overall benefits gained from JV agreements far outweigh the few cons. So I still love JVs!

Add them to your "People I Will Not Work With In The Future" list. Then move on.

Yep. However, the full title of my list is: "People I Will Not work With In The Future And Will Not Recommend To Others".

The title could actually be much longer, but you get the point.

      All the best,
      Michael

HaHa... I agree. It kind of does suck but you can know that you are better than these people because you can actually keep promises. You should feel good about that.....

When you're working with new partners you might want to consider only mailing out partially to begin with.

You agree to mail 25% of your list, he/she reciprocates and so on until the job is completed.

The way I do it is on a results basis, I'll generate 100 sales for them then I expect them to deliver a 100 sales for me etc

It's the way I was taught to do things when I worked in direct mail, everything is based on results — no BS.

Very fair way of doing things.
