Hey friends,

For that 100th post, I'd like to share a bit of what I have learned in few months, since I first started to work on internet marketing in June 2008.

Those 6 months have been quite a journey. I implemented a lot of different kind of online businesses: blogs, newsletters, software, few ebooks etc. If I made few bucks here and there, the real value of all this has been the experience I developed by doing so many different things.

Here are those few things I learned:

-Attract and Sell.
That's what it's all about. Everything else can be outsourced.

-Be patient.
Marketing is a muscle that needs to develop. It hurts bad at start and then it gets better more you train it. That's why patience is so important, a muscle takes time to build, and any shortcut taken is a future weakness.

-There are good people out there.
And there's a lot on this forum. Reading them makes the theory you can build on. The implementation is up to you, to your guts and your dedication. Take not shortcut here also, just build, fail etc. until the theory become instinct.

-Be yourself and do it your way.
It's the best possible USP (unique selling proposition), stick to it.

-There's no truth.
Just outcomes. Test and measure.

-More money you make offline, more difficult it is to switch to a full online income.
Therefore, don't wait to have 3 kids and to make $10k a month in corporate america to start to build your business online. Start young.

-Opportunities are everywhere.
You just need to look at things a little bit differently, with a different angle.

In the next few weeks I will finally leave corporate america thanks to what I have learned here. It's a big victory for me.

I will finally have time to work on all the projects I have in my head...

I will finally have time to spend with my wife and kids..

I will finally have time to sleep at night...

Good luck for those who are still trying, it's worth the effort.

Patrice

Thanks, Patrice, for those motivational words; nice to know you're finally getting there.

Looks like you're saying there's no one, sure-fire, system for making it, just test and trial your own way of doing things for success. I'd second that - lots of people are looking for the goose that laid the golden egg, but it doesn't exist.

My advice is just do your own thing and keep changing and testing your system until it pays off.

Thanks for your kind words guys.

Indeed Jonathan, there are so many different things to do that it's better to first, learn the basics, and then go on his own path.... where it's not crowded
