I haven't done e-mail marketing but I hear a lot of good things about aWeber here. Give them a shot

Chasiffareed, I spent about a year using Icontact and it wasn't very good. Three months ago, I switched to Aweber and I've been very happy with the service. I have found that it is very user friendly and creating lists and web forms is a very straight forward process. You can find out more about Aweber here

You will also find that Aweber is the most reliable email marketing software

Would you mind telling us specifically how and why iContact wan't very good? And how and why Aweber is better than iContact?

      Thanks!

I've been using Aweber for over 5 years now and they've been great.

I looked into iContact a few months ago and they're only worth considering if you have profitable subscriber lists of over 50,000 people.

Their deliverability is excellent and you can more easily integrate them into many different ecommerce platforms. You can do lots of other cool list segmentation tricks with iContact too (but this is for advanced email marketers).

Aweber don't charge you on the number of emails you send out, on the other hand iContact do. So if you're just starting out I would use Aweber, they're cost effective and most importantly they've very easy to use.

I have used Constant Contact quite a bit, I would give them a look when you get a moment.

If you send these emails from your own IP number, without using a service like Aweber or whatever, then you can end up getting your email account banned, and even losing your internet connection, if recipients complain and think you're sending "spam".

The problem is that some people have short memories, and they can think you're sending spam even after they've opted in (and sometimes even after they've confirmed their opt-in). And if your ISP gets complaints about you, then yes, your service may be in jeopardy.

This is one of the risks of a "self-hosted solution" rather than an independent service hosted elsewhere.

Actually, it's possible to use self-hosted software and
still send via an externally managed SMTP server rather
than relying on your own hosting server.

For example, you can use an external server such as
      smtp.com, authsmtp.com and they send the e-mail
for you and maintain the reputation and deliverability
      of the server.

Self-hosted solutions such as Interspire E-mail Marketer
or ActiveCampaign E-mail Marketer allow external SMTP
      servers to be used.

One of the advantages of this route is that you have
more control over your list and can change external
      SMTP servers at will.

Conversely, if you use third-party autoresponder solutions
then you're tied to whatever servers they send from and
it's harder to move your list thereafter if deliverability
      issues arise.

If you're not technical then I'd recommend using a
third-party autoresponder service instead of having
      a self-hosted solution.

So go for a proven third-party autoresponder service
provider such as AWeber, iContact, etc.

Email Marketing Software, Email Marketing Newsletters & Autoresponders by AWeber (no affil.)

Email Marketing - iContact (no affil.)

By going with a third-party provider you effectively
outsource the more technical stuff so you can then
      focus on building your list.

Aweber or icontact are the leading players in this industry no doubt about that. I'd pay them $19 a month just because they are reliable.

Yes..you host it and set it up. You need to know what you are doing though. I agree with Shaun in that I'd go the hosted way if you are starting out. You can try aweber for 1 dollar the first month anyway.

Aweber is the best i have seen so far.

It has lots of options and different categories of sign-ups.

You will have no issue with them if you chose the right option for your email marketing needs.

You can always upgrade later as your needs increases.

Email marketing is a good way to drive traffic to a website but when a software is been used it might send mail to untargeted emails or double your message, which your customers would not find funny. For any effective email marketing you are adviced to use an Autoresponder to grab your subscribers emails and a good site that offer such service is Aweber with nice customer service.

    Hello,

Very smart and effective way to build your business and make some serious $$$$. The best out there in my opinion is Aweber, but some other very competitive services are iContact, Constant Contact, GetResponse, InfusionSoft.

You won't get banned if you don't send spam, and there's spam filters within these email marketing services. You also will want to space your emails out over a period of time, as opposed to sending 20 emails out in a day.

It's pretty simple and straightforward to use. Very uncomplicated (not sure if that's a word but it's not complicated, ha!)

Let me know which service you end up going with.

    Take care,

I use Aweber for my email marketing. But if you haven't got the budget, try MailChimp - it's free for the first couple thousand subscribers.

If you're not very technical, I wouldn't recommend going
      down the self-hosted route.

Self-hosted means that you get the software installed
on your own server and then manage it from there.

If you're not technically savvy, I'd recommend that you
consider going for a third-party autoresponder service
      such as AWeber, iContact, etc.

The advantage of this is that the third-party autoresponder
service provider handles most of the technical aspects of
      getting your e-mails delivered, etc.

Hi chasiffareed, software for email marketing will speed up your promotion of your website but usnig software you can get banned at any time. So I suggest you manual email sending for your website. Its a slow process but it will not make your Id banned.

    Thanks

if you have a lot of clients to send to you will get banned ,,its better to join a emailing service....like

    1, aweber
    2, icontact
    3, mail chimp
4, constant contact- free for up to 500 subscribers..

aweber is the best however the costs the most, $1.00 for the 1st month, then $19.00 per-month after...

check out all of those suggestions and see which one you like the best, don't just rush into one and don't find out what the others are like.
