How can I best leverage my ebook?

Hey Warriors,

I've written a great 19 pages report on link pyramids, an advanced link building strategy, but right now I'm not sure how to leverage it the best:

1.) give it away for free (no opt-in)?
2.) give it away for an opt-in?
3.) sell it as a $7 WSO?
4.) Put it on warriorplus so fellow warriors can promote it for 100%?

I'm really not sure how to price it right because the info in it is really top notch and laid out in a step-by-step fashion, examples, no fluff etc.

If anybody could give me some pointers on what would be the best option, I'd appreciate it.

Cheers,
Alex

Depends on what you want to achieve.

Do you want to show your expertise? Give it away for free and add a lot of backlinks, so that people will be sent your way.

I guess the guide will be good enough, so that people can follow it by themselves, but by looking at your avatar and signature offer, I would say that you offer that service, too.

So when you show that you know what you are talking about, then chances are that people who want to save time will buy from you after reading this guide.

Do you want to make quick money? Sell it as a WSO.

You got it, that's exactly what I'm after with this report. I keep the whole thing fluff free, provide value, no aff links or the like and the last page is used to show that all of the work can also be outsourced to me.

So in that context, give it away, not charge for it by making it a wso?

The reason I'm asking is I'm trying to kill as many birds as possible with one stone (literally, of course).

Once you have been actively selling your ebook for a while, you could give it away (in return for an opt-in) or together with a product of yours that the customer purchased.

I just read your post above and have to add this... if your content is of high quality, people will be willing to pay for it. I believe that you could achieve more sales by selling your product than by giving it away. You would get their emails anyway if they purchase the product from you...
Yeah, that's true, some good points you made. Thanks for your thoughts Ryan.

More thoughts? Especially on the pricing? Should I give away a few copies for free and ask for an honest testimonial in return as well as what people would pay? I guess it's not easy for anyone to tell without having seen the book.

      I forgot to mention:

You should always offer your book when offering your services.

Use this to show off your expertise.

Like BacklinkExcellence, the company behind "EBOOK"...

A book, even if it's a small one, is something that impresses most people and can give you the edge over a competitor.

Thanks Donhx, I didn't look at it that way. I realize there is a trap where you as a product creator think "ok this is so good people are going to take action on it" but we all know how flawed that thought is. Your suggestions make sense.

Thought about the $7 as well. I'll survey the market and see what the response is like. Cheers!

        Thanks, I'll consider it!

If anybody has any other opinions or angles to look at this, I'd appreciate your thoughts.

There's a couple of ways you can go about this, whether you sell if for a low price, or give it away for free.

Let's consider the low price e-book approach first -

It's true, if you provide value in a topic that a lot of people are interested in, they will pay less than $10 for it happily because it saves them the time and effort to do the research themselves.

Remember to build your list of buyers, so when someone buys, put them on your list. The great thing about such a list as opposed to a list of people who don't buy is you know the list is a quality list cause they were willing to put down a small investment.

You can also use it to attract affiliates. Let's say for everyone who buys your e-book, you offer them 100% commission for sending others to buy from you. Sure, you don't make any money off this because you are giving 100% commission, but you get to build a list! This is the strategy behind Jon Leger's $7 secrets.

If you decide to give it away as an opt-in giveaway, do put links at the end, either to your related products or affiliate links to other related products.

Or do what Jason Fladlien does. He lets people 're-brand' his free ebooks, meaning that all of the links to his products become affiliate links, and this helps to attract lots of affiliates too!

Or try this - put the first few pages of your 'paid' report for free on scribd or issu, then at the end, say that to get the full scoop, they need to pay $7.

So there's a lot of creative ways to use a combination of both techniques!

          • Thanks Tim Yang, you brought up a few good points. I thought about the doc sharing sites as well but not in the way you approached it. Definitely going to do that!
