Social Media Manager?

So the product creation thing has been a painfully slow process for me. I realize that I'm breaking an important rule of MMO but I truely believe that it is time for me to try another path.

I've recently been introduced to Social Media Managing but have yet to dive deep into it. I'm curious if anyone has any experience or tips on this. Any free or relatively inexpensive reports on this or input at all would be greatly appreciated.

    It sounds like you are going about it all wrong. You don't just wake up one day and say "I want to be a Doctor today, it sounds fun and they make a lot of money".

    You should determine what you enjoy doing and are qualified to do and do that massively.

    However, if you do want to really learn Social Media, jump in and do it. I mean, sign up at Twitter, Facebook, and a few others and start doing it.

    You need to learn first hand how each model works and proper etiquette for each place.

    If you enjoy and get good at working each system, then you can look at managing it for others. Afterall it's hard to manage something you have no experience with.

    Search through the forum and you should find plenty of tips on all the services. Combine that with your hands on experience and then you will be ready to roll.

        Thank you for your input and I hear where you're coming from. Although I think that the majority of IMers do wake up and say "I want to make money online, it seems like fun and they make a lot of money." And the next step would be to dig into it and find out if it is for you or not. I have basic social media knowledge but I am unaware of the specifics of techniques and things like that.

        You seem to be well on your way in the IM world and really appreciate experienced warriors like yourself helping out the newer guys like me!!
