Do you feel invincible now that you know what you know?

Hey,

Ok, I am a 17 year old high school dropout... In my community.. without an education.. you're an outcast!

But i did educate myself in the field of IM. I read countless e-books, signed up for over 50 lists (unsubbed to most and stuck with the ones i liked) Bought countless systems.

I believe i posses knowledge that people spend thousands on to possess and waste years putting it to good use. I could loose everything i have and get right back where i am now within a few months...

Is it just me?? I mean dont you feel that there's nothing that can stop you? people who used to doubt you now envy you? You're only limited to your own greed and desire?? Its one in the morning here and i cant sleep.... ive been thinking about this all day!! :p

Cheers,
kunal

I feel competent and confident, certainly. Far from invincible, being only 21 and having only just over 2 years' experience at this ... but maybe "invincible" is more a "guy thing"?

I think this great enthusiasm will work in your favour, Kunal: I wish you well.

Wow, I see ... that really is something special. Congratulations. (We should have more threads like this: they're quite inspirational!).

I've been at this since 1999 and honestly, the older I get, the less I know and the more knowledge I seek.

I have twins that are your age and I always do joke with them saying I wish I knew as much now as I did when I was their age.

The confidence of youth - it's euphoric indeed. Enjoy it.

Life is very rough - sorry you've experienced so much so young.

        Good luck achieving your goals

I'm still a beginner, and you're younger than I am. Makes me wonder what I could have been like if I had your drive. Instead "feeling invincible" to me now would be a measly 100 bucks a day, which is peanuts to some here! And no I don't feel invincible

I've been at this since 1999. So, yes, I feel like an unstoppable ****** Juggernaut! I'm twice your age but I can relate to how you feel. Even after all this time I still feel like a kid in a candy store (or Gamestop, pick your poison!).

Some nights I get an idea in my head, fire up my PC or laptop, and start dictating using Dragon Naturally Speaking and before I know it, the sun is coming up!!! It's like a rave, but without the music and tons of people......

I hate to be the wet blanket, but here's a dose of reality...

No one is invincible. Life can change in the blink of an eye and never be the same again. If you think you're invincible there's a very good chance you won't prepare for the future intelligently ... or at all.

    Change is inevitable.

I have experienced this first hand.... Just 5 in the evening my grandpa returned home with a debit card. So that i could use it to pay for my hosting and whatnot. The same night at around 10 he collapsed right in front of me and died in my arms... i was 15... I had already lost my dad to cancer when i was 12... i never wanted to attend another funeral... Nothing could have prepared me for it..... But it has made me who i am... I'll say it again,.... i dont think there is anything that can stop me from living my life the way i wanna live it.. Living in fear is something i am desperately tired of... I am INVINCIBLE!
I might sound cocky... But yea... I dont think i "fear" anything now.... Ive been through enough S#*t to understand how much it means to me to stand where i am now

kunal, you've been through a lot. Most everyone has. Everything we experience lends itself toward making us who we are. So too, do what we think and what we choose to believe.

There's an ocean of difference between living in fear and pretending we're invincible. One can live fearlessly while still being realistic. Living in a pretend world of how we wish life was, doesn't make it so.

By the way, you don't sound cocky, you sound young. You'll probably go on thinking you're invincible ... until life shows you that you aren't. That's what I was hoping to help you avoid -- the hard lesson that comes to everyone who thinks they are invincible. It seems I've wasted my time and yours. Sorry.

I've never felt invincible as such. But 3 years ago when I started University I was the most laid back, care-free person you could meet.

When I returned home for christmas, on christmas day my mother had a gallbladder attack, caused by a gallstone stuck in one of her tubes.

This required immediate surgery. The following day my mother complained that her chest was in-fact getting worse.

On boxing day she was diagnosed with Acute respiratory distress syndrome. She developed a fibroses of the lungs and on new years I had to sit in-front of her, and I remember it so vividly as if it were yesterday.

I asked, "your going to be ok right?" *This was moments before putting her into induced coma*

For the first time (and my mum was always positive), she looked at me with defeated eyes, and said I don't know.

That last line really got to me. She then battled with this syndrome for 4 whole months in induced coma. At times we were told that what has happened to her is very rare for it to happen to anyone, and chances are slim.

I remember the nurse asking me to say something, because sometimes in coma they can still respond to what you say. I said, "hey mum how are you doing, can you hear me". At that point her finger twitched.

It was amazing because it was the first sign I'd seen from her in months.

Those 4 months were the longest 4 months of my life. In the end, she made it.

But the worry did not stop there, doctors then said that the fibrosis she had develop was one that was irreversible and ended up fatal within a few short years.

Apparently they had miss diagnosed her and that scare lasted only a short spell. That whole traumatic experience is now the reason why I have taken my reality check, and that care-free guy back in '08 is not as enthuthiastic and care-free as he once was.

I've had one of our families best holidays become a memory of what happened. Our family now rarely celebrates it.

I've also developed Depression after the trauma. Something I'm still battling now. I get anxiety and panic attacks, palpitations and general feeling of death.

IM gave me something to aim for, something to shine a light into the darkness that creeps in our lifes.

Getting to the point, I'm now more aware of what is possible. And I prepare myself for anything (contradicting because in the end your never really ready for it), not taking the now for granted.

You haven't wasted your time... i get what you're trying to say.. i get it... what i am trying to get across is this: I saw my dad take his final breath 5:30 in the morning, we have a tradition here that the dying man should be given holy water in his final hour, basically sons do it and then cremating him took a toll on me... i had to undergo therapy for over a year, as soon as i was out of it, i knew i never wanted to attend another funeral, but then it happened yet again. I understand that life isnt predictable... But this is the strongest i have felt in a LONG TIME!

I wanted do do something besides sitting on my computer all day, So i gave an interview for a telemarketing job when i was 16 (They didnt know i was 16 until they read my resume) I went through the different stages they had and they finally asked me my about age and i told them i was 16 but i could get the job done,... Guess what?? they hired me anyway.. out of the 200 or so "qualified" people that were gunning for this position only 10 were selected and i was one of them.

It was a australian process called bargain breaks if you live in Australia, you've probably gotten this call:
"hey this is shane and im calling you from bargain breaks... how are you doing today?... The reason for my call is to let you know about a special promotional offer where you get 10 nights of accommodation in 3 to 5 star hotels for just $109"

I made the most sales in my team... The only reason i left was that i later found out that this was a big fat scam and here i was selling it to old people in retirement villages over the phone.

anyways, my point is... you could take away everything i have, Yeah life can beat you down, what goes it comes around.... Its not how hard you hit the ground, its how fast you get back up!

          Cheers,

I hope you don't think I'm picking on you. I love your positive, can do attitude, but I think you're only getting part of what I'm saying. I refer back to my first post: "If you think you're invincible there's a very good chance you won't prepare for the future intelligently ... or at all."

Since you get that bad things can happen, you should understand the need to prepare for the future while things are going well. I'm talking about things like saving for the future, reinvesting, continuing your education (formal or not), setting goals and writing them down, making an action plan to reach your goals, building a network of business associates, etc.

See, when a lot of people feel invincible, they don't do any of that. It often comes back to kick them in the backside. All I've been saying is don't let that good feeling prevent you from preparing for the future, because you won't always feel invincible, but what you do to prepare for the future while you're feeling so good will go a long way toward how your future works out for you.

I certainly don't feel invincible, although I must admit that I do get a bit complacent from time to time. My IM education is far from complete, and even though I have consistent money coming in, I know I still have a lot to learn.

Like others I wouldn't say invincible but I will say this, the information i have now about IM and building websites has giving me a huge advantage in my brick and mortar local business and I feel like within a year my company could be leading our niche for my territory based on Internet marketing efforts alone. Struggling for years to keep a business afloat and then all of a sudden starting to see huge increases in leads and sales is a great feeling and incredibly inspiring.

Also starting to see my sites rank and selling some good high ticket Amazon items is increasing my confidence everyday.

My advice to you though is to remember that there are people on this forum who have forgotten more about IM then you and I will ever know, continue to learn everyday and you will forever be invincible.

There's a particular banned member of this forum that has a specific vendetta against her and makes up the most ludicrous crap he can to try and discredit her.

Frankly I think the person should be locked up.

It seems to me like most of us here are discussing how things really were, and talking about the reality versus how we feel inside.

At the age of 12 i was hiding in shelters as a war refugee. At the age of 14 I was in a foster family in a foreign country where I couldn't understand anybody. At the age of 17 I was in yet another country trying to figure out how many cans of sardines I need each day to be able to live on my own.

If there is one thing I learned from the boring self-help books at Borders and Barnes And Nobles it's this:

It really makes no difference what's right and what's wrong, the only thing that matters is whether something's working out for you or not. Is it ok that some of us feel invincible? How far is it from the reality? Is it ok that some of us are just humble in our success? It doesnt matter, because different things work out for different people.

The "kid" feels invincible. It seems like it's working out for him. It wouldn't be working out for me, because I always perform better as an underdog. But i'm not right or closer to some "reality" than he is. And even if I was, it wouldnt make any difference. It's just not something that's working out for him.

I know someone could easily pull out a quote from this "It really makes no difference what's right and what's wrong, the only thing that matters is whether something's working out for you or not" and try to crucify me. They would probably list examples of bank robbers and rapists who don't care if something is right or wrong as long as it's working out for them. That however, would depend on what your definition of "working out for you" is, but that's a whole another issue...

I think the same as you buddy, I am an 18 year old and I am in my first year of college but I am not going back next year because I want to fully focus on IM. I hate how our society is structured and that all everyone wants to do is go to college and than get a job in an office with a 9-5 job. I want to do something different and people do doubt me now but soon they will not I am glad that you posted this was very inspirational for me to read it, Thanks man!

I agree with others here... I feel more blessed than invincible! Knowledge is power. and sometimes money!

I thought I was invincible once, in 1987. I was young then as well. However one Monday in October the markets crashed and around 70% of my investment portfolio simply disappeared. Myself and my entire family lost hundreds of thousands of dollars in the blink of an eye.

Years later I advised my brother against feeling invincible, but he didn't listen - and in 2008 he lost his job with the now infamous downturn, in 2009 the bank foreclosed on his far-too-pricey house, and he is now begging me to teach him how to become an Internet Marketer so he can pay rent on the apartment I'm letting him "squat" in back home in Canada.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to rain on your parade mate, my point is simply this: Always temper confidence with the reality that at any point in time, life can effortlessly spoil your best laid plans. It's hard to grasp this at your age, believe me I know, but take my advice and prepare, as best you can, for any eventuality.

In fact I feel courage to take action and move forward.

I know that when I take action, there will be feedback, does not matter if it is what I want or not.

based on the feedback, I move forward and toward to success.

    What about knowledge?

It is important and not important.

It is important because I feel better to move forward

It is not important because I can learn along the way and there is not reason for me to stay stuck.

That's a great attitude to have to wake you up in the morning. With that being said, as far as dealing with the widest range of clients over the long term, it has been my experience to deal with them assertively rather than passively or aggressively.

Jason - I'm glad your mom made it. My first taste of how fragile life is was when I was just out of high school. My best friend in the world was run over from behind by a drunk driver. The girl who ran him over was only 17, not even old enough to drink legally.

Keep looking forward, choose the thoughts you repeat to yourself carefully, you can overcome the depression and anxiety. Your subconscious mind is kind of like a computer, you can program it with repetition.

I guess success is achieved mainly because of will power and confidence.
If you have made up your mind that you will be successful no matter what, then it will happen.

Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out.

    That is SO true.

My mates use to think I was bonkers, telling me I was mad to try to make money on the interweb.

But fast forward to today, and they all want me to show them how to do it.

Try a couple of different meanings of "invincible"

    1. "Nothing bad can happen to me"

    2. "I can survive and even thrive through anything bad that happens to me"

Many folks seem to be answering as if the OP meant #1. But it looks to me as if he means something more like #2.

Although it is great that you are working hard at IM, nothing is better than an education. It is socially acceptable to get a normal education. you will thank yourself later.

Congrats on your success, but don't ever think that you are invincible! I remember being a teenager and feeling the same way, but then my Uncle Sam sent me to Mogadishu and I realized that this invincible stuff is for the birds!

I am glad to see that you are succeeding in your chosen field, but this is no reason not to finish your education. At the very least, go and get your GED. Life may throw an opportunity at you that you would be a fool to pass up on. I'd hate to see the fact that you don't have diploma stand in your way of that opportunity.

    Invincible? Probably Not

But I feel like I never have to worry about finding a job and working for someone else,
since I know how to reach millions of potential customers. And it's not even that hard

Rock on Kunal! You're a smart person, I can tell by your post. Dropout is just a category - and you fall into the same category as Bill Gates, so not too bad. While I'm not advocating that you should have dropped out of school, I am advocating the fact that you can create a massively successful life for yourself, especially from the knowledge you have right now.

And definitely you have that period of where you're like "my middle finger won't go down, how do I wave" but eventually you realize how much better you are than that, and you actually lower yourself by caring about the doubters.

But congrats man, and keep on keepin on.

    Take care Kunal,

    Bobby Freiler
