I think someone should make this to help newbies choose

21 replies
I don't know if it already exists or not.

What I am talking about is. I think we should make a article or a post about
advantages and disadvantages of each different internet marketing paths.

The point to be made is to give options for internet marketer starters to see which paths
they want to choose and which traffic they want to focus and STICK with it for at least 6 months or more. Don't look left and right and see the neighbors' grass is always greener.
I think the number 1 failure for newbies are because they are lack of focus. And this is a way to say to newbies, here's several paths you can choose, choose right from the start, probably something that suit yourself, your budget, and time and stick with it until you find your own system and eventually make money.

I will contribute a little. for example:...

1. Content publish, not necesarily Adsense, can use affiliate and CPA too.
It's about advertising.
Pro: Basically auto pilot income after it takes off.
Cons: Took very minimum 3 months to see results, need to be very good at SEO, and keywords planning, and maybe site structuring too.
It's like a train, very slow to start and when done right, nothing can stop it.

And then there are product creation, list building, traffic (SEO, PPC) to products (Own product, affiliates, CPA), etc...

    I would love to do this but I'm very busy right but however here is my 2 cents for now.

    Learn how to pick hot converting clickbank products and high volume search low competition keyword that will sell the product then setup your sniper site around it and do a lot of SEO for just 2 weeks.

    pros: after 2 weeks, you can land on the first page and then fold your hands and watch the profits role it. It's that very easy

    cons: your very first sites may fail and even frustrate you plus you it will take bite to master your seo plan so you could go for like 3 months with nothing in your pockets.

    But overall, if you master this... you will thank me for telling you to stick with cos it's the most profitable and lazy affiliate saver, I have been doing it now for 3 years non stop with no regrets, I'm sure most of you will love it.

    Just my 2 cents...

      I actually really wanted to do this when I started my affiliate marketing blog. I'm still too busy being a noob myself to help other noobs at the moment.

    The main problem is that people try to make money 50 different ways as soon as they start out. I know that I was trying ten things at once before I started making money as an offliner. It just worked out for me as I find SEO really easy.

    Other people will succeed with different paths. This year I'm much more focused on one project with big product launches.

    Having a single focus = more profitability.

    That being said there are thousands of ways to make money online.

    Newbies... here is something ive been doing for a while... although im not going to go over "everything" i will cover a few key points to get you started.

    Head over to amazon.com... browse any of these cateogories and pick out something you would like to write about/promote.

    Here is what i picked after looking around for a while:

    So your niche is "rowing machines" now you need to check out if there is money to be made, i have explained everything in the image itself:

    Now that you've gone over keyword research, it time to pick the products you're going to write reviews for:

    You also need to check your competition for the chosen keywords... You should have selected at least one primary keyword and then like one secondary keyword for each of your product name so you can rank your inner pages.... I use traffic travis for seo analysis.. but if you have Firefox you could do it for free.... You need to install a Firefox add-on called SEObook (google it)

    Now lets pick one keyword and analyze your competition:

    So its time to see how we can beat the competition... Lets check out our competiton. I will show you how i do it with Traffic travis... I have the pro version i guess you can download a trial version from their site... anyways...here we go:

    Spend a good amount of time on keyword research, dont make the mistake of ignoring it... If you get your keyword research right, everything else will fall into place. Pick the right battles. SEO is not something that you can learn by going through a few ebooks, its a skill that is best learned "in the field" I wont cover SEO here... but you could look around for some information on the subject.

    For more i recommend jan's course and paula c's "amazonian profit plan" You will learn a LOT of stuff from both of these courses. I have bought paula c's amazonian profit plan (i didnt know she had a WSO ) but its a great book nonetheless... totally worth it!! It filled up so many gaps....

    Anyways... Hope this helps you out a little bit.

    Cheers

    Good stuff.

    You should polish it up and offer it as a free introductory eguide to amazon marketing.

    There are a lot of directions you could take it from there.

    You're a smart kid so you may be way ahead of me on this.

      I am really not too interested in selling this or giving it away as a bonus for opt ins ... I am caught up with my amazon sites :p. I might make a proper WSO later on i guess. Right now i am still testing stuff out.

      But you are welcome to use it if you like.

      Cheers,

    For newbies who come to the fray with some skills - such as:

    article writing,
    copywriting (generally a lot more profitable than article writing),
    design - logos, ecovers, header graphics, entire websites, wordpress themes,
    programming - websites, plugins, popups,
    voice/video talent,

    can begin by trading services for cash. If you are completely new, offer your services at a heavy discount to build a portfolio, and take it from there.

    Pros: If you are decent at what you do, then it's very hard to fail at this! If you are a bit shy about marketing, then this method requires the least of it, you can focus on explaining your services, at least in the beginning.

    Cons: Not autopilot income, can't sit back and watch the money rolling in. Requires consistent work, not to mention communication - and you will get to work with all kinds of people, so it's important to know how to deal with clients, where to draw lines, and knowing (and being firm) about the extent to which you will go to keep people happy

    In his Talkbiz newsletter, Paul Myers said that there are 7 models for doing business online:

    * Physical goods
    * Publishing
    * Community
    * Leads
    * Traffic
    * Advertising space
    * Services

    That was *one* super-insightful read, the rest of it. I understand services best, so that's what I'm talking about here

    Good luck!

          I know... but choosing those profitable niches is one of the most difficult areas for beginners. I'm glad that you laid it out in an easy to follow guide.

    Seems to me that a number of newbies that post in here are more interested in making money online than in internet marketing, so I think this idea is a good one. I think a lot of people confuse the two.

    This information is relevant to all newbies and thanks to you all, it seems alot but its worth the effort because if you get it right the first time (this is the most difficult part) then you will not look back at the whole thing as wasted effort. Thanks again.

    I completely agree with this. I am bombarded with the next best marketing product and spend half my time looking at them rather than actually getting on with one thing. Would definitely be useful I someone with authority gave some advice on what the best thing to go for would be...and then we can just stick to that!
