It depends whether or not you can monetise them.

You can have thousands subscribing each day but they will be worthless unless you have a means of obtaining money from them in one way or another. It doesn't have to be selling a product to them but you do have to some method in mind or you're just building ego.

The niche is the Internet marketing niche..
I am using a unique combo wherein I need to pay only $40 per week to get 700 subs..
I thot this was not enough..
I am just starting to build my list..
But I was lucky enough to get a combo like this...

I hope I get more and more subscribers..

  It's a nice number but whee are those people subscribing from? I built up a big list in no time through cell phone marketing but a lot of the subs were from the non english speaking countries. Thus, they couldn't buy the things that I later went on to promote.
  
  Are those subs from western countries or places where a lot of people may speak english as a second language like India, Phillipinnes etc?
  
  If you're getting a lot of subs from places like india, phils, nigeria etc then unfortuntately it's gonna be a massive waste of time for you. They simply can't buy anything online.

100 subcribers per day is very good, when I tried option lists I didn't get 100 per day, so for me it's very nice. With time you will build it also, so don't worry, make $.

How many subscribers per day into your optin list is good?
If you are starting out, I would say about 50 a week on average. This number is only accurate if you do not use paid advertising such as solo ads or ppc.

If you are doing 1 solo ads a month, 1-2 ad swaps a week, ppc etc, you are looking at about 100 - 200 a week....(without other methods)

What are your results??
I am averaging 200 a week just by doing ad swaps. I do about 1 solo ads a month and get about 200 - 300 a pop. I am starting to do article marketing and later in the future, video marketing....

How many subscribers do you get per day??
Average about 20 - 30 per day

I got excited when I opened this thread up. I thought it was about my product '100 Subscribers Per Day'

But yes, 100 per day is very good. Here's a portion of an article I shared with my subscribers to excite them about the possibility of adding 100 subscribers per day.

"Imagine you add 100 subscribers to your email list every day for one year. Imagine you also have a 150 message auto-responder sequence (whereby 50 of the messages promote affiliate products and 100 deliver good content) set up to be delivered over the course of one year. (Of course, you don't have to create 150 messages right away - you don't have to create ANY of it yourself, in fact!)

By the end of the year we would have 36,500 subscribers and by the end of year two EVERY SINGLE ONE of these subscribers will have gone through our 150 email sequence containing 50 promotional messages. (Plus we'd have another 36,500 subscribers who had gone through MOST of our messages)

That means that each subscriber has been exposed to 50 different promotional emails and a total of 36,500 x 50 = 1,825,000 (that's nearly 2 MILLION) emails have been delivered to customers purely promoting products that earn us an affiliate commission. (And that doesn't include broadcast emails!)

That's a LOT of emails that earn us a LOT of commission while we live the dream internet lifestyle.

Of course, there will be subscribers who unsubscribe but if you create engaging, quality content and promote GOOD offers, then the majority will stick around.

Now imagine if you had a two year auto-responder in place. Or a FIVE year auto-responder sequence.

Or if you were generating 200 subscribers daily. Or 500.Or more.

There is no limit to the amount of money you can earn with your own email list. Your mind and what you believe is your only limitation."

The total number of subscribers really means nothing if you aren't getting that traffic from targeted sources and delivering content highly related to that traffic.

I have a list in a very targeted micro niche inside the fitness industry. It averages 2-5 subscribers per day, but about 40% of the subscribers purchase the end product.

None of my other lists do this well. Only 100 subscribers could lead to a couple thousand dollars in this niche.

I think that 100 subscribers per day to ones site is pretty good in my view.

There are vendors out there with an army of affiliates and they are getting 500-3000 subscribers every single day.

If you can do it yourself and get 100 people to subscribe, that is pretty good.

Listen to everyone and WF, then you can maximize your list. In a month you'll have 3100 subscribers. If everyone looks at your email there are bound to be some conversions depending on your skill, knowledge, and ability.

100 a day sounds really good, but it depends on the type of subscribers you are getting. If you are getting a list that doesn't buy, they are worthless.

You want to make sure you are getting targeted subscribers who take action. Make sure that you are building a relationship with them and giving them free quality content.

I would rather have 5 opt ins a day for subscribers who are going to give feedback when I ask, are going to buy affiliate products I recommend, and purchase products I create.

So make sure you are building targeted lists...over quantity.
