Hi Guys,

My first post! I have been reading non stop for the last 48 hours though. Can barely seen straight!

Anyway my first question...

I have read alot of the WSO and Product Review type posts. A lot of the negative reviews / opinions have a common theme... along the lines of..

"For that much money, I could hire 2 full time outsource employees from the Philippines", and have them do the same thing for less".

My question is exactly where do I find these super cheap, link building, blog writing, article posting, research gathering, dependable, english masters?

Can anyone enlighten me?

Do they know what to do already, or do I need to give them very specific instructions.

Any help would be appreciated, and I love the Warrior Forum!

Hiring full time outsources is not that different from hiring local people for a regular day job. You'll find all ranges of skills, talents and abilities, with varying salary expectations. They get sick, bored, do poorly or do great just like anyone else would, on a given job or day.

If you get someone cheap who has good English, and train them, give them a raise or someone else may hire them for more money after you have trained them.

Be as specific as you want the results to be. If you want things a certain way, you need to tell them that. I would not count on them to do something very well I wasn't able to do very well myself.

You can try out Odesk. I have seen lots of workers there and Odesk gives tests to people to see how good they are at english. there are also tests based on the skills that various people will have.

      Hi Todd,

I find 95% of my outsource workers from Craigslist Philippines. If you go there you can post an ad or you can look through resumes of people who are looking for a job.

I also strongly suggest hiring them full time. Why? If you hire them part time, they will find another part time job to compensate. That means that they will be focusing on your projects and someone else's projects too. This usually leads to trouble.

You can hire someone full time for $250-$350 a month depending on experience.

But before hiring them make sure you have an actual plan on what you need done.

I have found from experience that when an outsource employee makes mistakes, most of the
time it's because I didn't explain myself well enough. Your employees will usually be too
shy to tell you that they don't understand something. Make sure you explain yourself clearly
      with video and detailed instructions.

      Hope that helps...

I've had good success and employ a few guys from the Philippians.

My approach was to have a specific task for them initially; and I tested them to make sure they could perform it proficiently before building on that.

For example, I have one guy that builds and manages my entire network of wordpress affiliate sites. He knows how to set up datafeedr sites, phpBay.. he's outstanding.

Another does all link building, content generation..

One thing I did learn fast though if you get the right help.. that you are going to have to really be on the ball yourself keeping them busy. If they are really good; they'll fly through a project so fast you'll be scrambling to set up new projects -- repetitive projects help btw.

        Good luck!

I would highly recommend against ODesk if you are looking for a full time employee. They are under the contractor mindset and will rarely work out as a full time employee. ODesk works really well but I would only recommend it for one time projects or even on-going projects if you need to fill a skill set you don't need on a daily basis. Like a web design project or something, but if you need web design daily, I'd look at Craiglist/OnlineJobs.ph and get someone who is looking for a full time job.

Another thing to keep in mind, I would take attitude and work ethics over skills every day. You can only train one and the other is worth its weight in gold.

This is the main reason why I stay away from Odesk after forming my own team. Another limitation of Odesk is, they do not accept people that doesn't have credit cards (even employee)..

Most people working with Odesk handles multiple jobs from different employers. It is better to have your own personal VA who has her full focus only to you.

Well I'm not super cheap, but I am one of the best writers available. You can find me on Elance.com. I'm listed there as erichammer and I'm ranked #208 out of more than 81,000 writers on the site. I also firmly believe that you get what you pay for. I've seen the work that some of my competitors from cheap markets like the Philippines and India have to offer. Nothing personal against them, but if you want to build a website which actually gets click throughs, you want someone who really knows how to write, which is very, very rare with many of these people. For other things however, which don't require writing I think you'll do fine if you are specific in what you want them to do.

        I agree.

After I delivered an article order to an SEO owner client, he commented:

"Gee, I'm not used to this kind of quality."

Simply focusing on paying the least amount of money, isn't a good outsourcing strategy. You've got to find the right balance of quality and affordability.

One place that I don't think has been mentioned is onlinejobs.ph

You do have to pay a $49 monthly subscription which may put off some people but for me it's worth it particularly if you are hiring multiple workers or like in my case, trying to find specific workers with specific skill sets for next to nothing....

I have hired full time Filipino workers, it is a mine field and I was using John Jonas syatem. It is a job in itself to do that and did not work out.

My advice look at fivver.com for simpler tasks and Odesk for somewhat larger, but at Odesk it pays to write very precise job descriptions, demand very fast turnaround and give examples. I get a set of minisite graphics for $12, which I have been quoted$40-$100 for. Also Need an Article is good for $6 500 word articles on anything.

What did you think of John Jonas system? I was interested in that for the pre-created tasks that can be handed over right to outsourcer, but I suspected it wasn't going to be what I was looking for. He has a few good ideas I see popup on his blog but I never took the plunge.

Many assume that because the Web is littered with offers dirt-cheap, everyone will offer their services at that price. I get enquiries for web design and other stuff, but a significant number of them are always looking for free or cheap service. "When you pay peanuts, you only get to hire monkeys."

Though, I am from India, I would say (from a business point of view), Philippines would be a better choice.

    Why?

India is a fast developing country, and we are noticing increasing trends in terms of GDP, income and globalization. That would entail the basic per capita income going up...and if they are doing freelancing, they would charge higher compensation. Can't help that, can we?

Philippines is still much backward, sorry to say. So, the basic income level is quite low over there. Still, people there know how to speak and write correct English. So, you are getting good (NOT better) people at cheaper rates.

    Word of Caution

You got to choose your candidates carefully! People know that Philippines and India are the favorites when it comes to outsourcing. So, many chumps here and there are turning to earn some money from the outsourced work.

Not all of them are worth it. Make your choice carefully.

      I like freelancer.com

The reason is that the outsourcers do not specify hourly rates.
If you are stringent with your bid terms i.e. dont specify too much range, then you will get excellent work...

      1. backlinks
      2. data mining
      3. article writing (only from good native english speakers)
      4. programming (on the cheap)

I've always used freelancer.com for finding writers. I would say for every 10 i end up with 1 good one who i can keep for a longer time period. I always ask for an example article, then i ask them to write 1 article as a test before awarding the project.

About the full time Vs Part time thing, im not sure. I used to hire ppl from bestjobs.ph and i found when i hired them full time, they would only do about half a days work and 'pad out' the rest of the time in their daily reports. When they are only working 4 hrs per day though it's harder to do that.

I hired a ghostwriter on oDesk. She lives in Africa and did well on the english test.

Her rate was $7/hour and was quite a bargain for the amount of time and effort that she put in the project. Her writing was good, but you can tell that she's not a full-time American-English speaker.

The oDesk system was pretty easy to use and has an hour logging feature for the team (if you have one)

I've used rentacoder in the past as well. Hired someone from Russia with good luck and another from India.

    Hey Todd71,

I have a good advice for ya. If you are new to internet marketing then DO NOT outsource. I say that because you have to know your business from inside out before you can start outsourcing. You have to know every detail of what you want to do and give clear instructions to those you hire to help you in your business. Selecting those to hire can be a challenge too, you kinda have to look closely and choose the right candidate for the job. I usually look through the portfolio of work that my potential employee has done before drawing out the decision of hiring him/her. But like I said, most importantly you have to know what needs to be done and give clear instructions.

For Philippines outsourcing I recommend onlinejobs.ph

    Good luck to ya!

I do quite a bit of outsourcing. I use elance, odesk, craigslist and I've tried a few others. The KEY is to hire the right person not the cheapest person. Your interview needs to be very intensive.

I like to only hire women. They have produced more quality work in a faster time frame for me over and over again.

I do not hire anyone who doesn't have history. Make sure they have already done what your wanting them to do.

I do not hire anyone full fime for the first job. I always do a fixed price contract. If after a few good transactions then I might consider a full time position.

Last but not least. If you don't know exactly what they need to do then you will not get what you want. You have to be able to basically do the work yourself to properly outsource it. It's the only way you will know if what your paying for is any good.

    Good luck.

    Daniel

With regards to paying for articles you will find that cheap poor quality content will no longer cut it. You want articles to help drive traffic/sales/money to your website so be prepared to pay a respectable sum of money to the people that are helping you out. A good quality article writer shouldn't be expected to charge minimum wage, or even worse... below minimum wage.

Having said that you can find good quality article writers for as little as $10 per article.
I respect your point but I strongly disagree... Not all cheap services are low-quality... I have 2 high-quality native American writers doing the 500-words 5 folds cheaper than your $10.

Finding these people might take a lot of trials and error but once you found then, the gold mining follows...

Seek what exactly you need, most of the freelancers or outsourcing companies know what they are doing on the said task. But still, you have to be clear on every task, tell exactly/specifically what you need and what you want. Good luck to your search!

    Hi Todd..Welcome to the forum!

Before anything else, be sure you are ready to outsource before doing so. By this I mean:

1.) Do you have a concrete plan/system on how to handle the freelancer?
2.) Do you have actual tasks that need to be outsourced?
3.) Are you financially ready to hire someone full-time or would you rather have someone work for you on a project and/or hourly basis?

    Ok, so where to outsource?

It doesn't really matter where you outsource as long as the person you are outsourcing to is competent enough to meet your needs.

super cheap, link building, blog writing, article posting, research gathering, dependable, english masters?
From your statement above, how would you define super cheap? $1/hour, $2/hour?

Freelancers from the Philippines and India will be able to provide the services you require at that rate. But you get what you pay for. If you are lucky, then you might find an outstanding freelancer that's willing to work for that rate. But... as time progresses, give them raises or else they will find a higher paying client. The rates I mentioned are usually for new freelancers from India and the Philippines.

Freelancers are not mind readers so you have to give them specific instructions. Let your freelancer know that you are open to their questions if there are any unclear tasks. Don't expect a freelancer to be perfect...they will make mistakes sometimes but talk it over with them. More importantly, develop a good working relationship with the ones who you know will be beneficial to your business in the long run, because a gem of a freelancer comes by very rarely.

I've had pretty good success with oDesk, Guru and eLance.

I find putting the following words in the post gets me quality people at a reasonable price...

'This will be a quick and easy job for someone who knows what they are doing.'

    Hope that helps,

    David.

There are a lot of places to outsource so you won't have trouble finding where to outsource. The difficult question is "how to outsource?"

I've tried outsourcing certain tasks, and I could say it's really a trial and error process.

You can find cheap outsourcers, but you really have to watch the quality of the work done. On the other hand, you can pay for premium services with little or minimal supervision required. It all depends upon your outsourcing needs.

Location doesn't matter as long the job gets done and you're satisfied with the results.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but you can look at OnlineJogbs.ph I learned about this site from John Jonas's Replace Myself Course.

I have been able to find very competent people there, you just have to guide and train them for the tasks the way you want them done.

The first time I hired a small team from Odesk. I was really happy with the results. I asked for many samples and I looked at the feedback and work history. Now I just need to find somebody that can write some code at a decent price.

    • I'm late to the party (any onion dip left?) but here's the lowdown on using Fiverr to outsource writing.

At least one of the top sellers is a U.S. resident who provides samples of well-written articles crafted in perfect English but once she gets your order hands it off to a stable of Filipino writers whose work product is decidedly sub-par. I can't post a link but my blog post about this was "Finding the Target?"

Another popular Fiverr seller, also in the U.S., generates a steady stream of product and does it all herself, earning on average $1500/mo from article sales. She gets a lot of repeat business. The post is "Freelancing with Fiverr."

My favourite sources is fiverr and freelancer.com I create a project on freelancer and pick the top three bidders on my project, then I give them all a test project. Then I pick the best of those three and continue to offer them work. I have found people for

    Article writing
    Article submission
Direct posting to my wordpress blogs
    Link building
    and on and on

I basically outsource everything except keyword research, domain research, and the initial set-up of the site.
