What do you need from a webhost?

I'm looking for feedback on what you need / use a webhost provider for.

I'd like to know what you currently use your webhost for or what you'd like to use your webhost for but can't and also any support requirements you currently have or would like to have.

This is market research towards a possible service I'm going to be offering

    Since most of them are almost similar when it come to packages, I would say the most important thing is the support......

      What sort of support would you like to see? Ignore what current hosts offer and tell me if you can what "you" would want?

        Most big hosts like hostgator and dreamhost have almost the same package and prices....

        The level of support I want is fast response... I want immediate response when I report that my site is down... Most hosts before answered my ticket after several hours telling me that there was no problem... heck, how can they know the problem when they check my site several hours after they received my ticket? That is what I mean - real tie support...

          If there was a webhost specifically for providing and supporting internet marketers would you considering moving if migration support was included?

      A good web host must have excellent support. Hostgator (no affiliate link here ) I think is one of the best in this department. Another important factor is the uptime. I hate to see my websites go down every now and then.

    generally internet marketers don't have big requirements - its either a blog on wordpress or html based squeezepages.

    launches would need large traffic scaleability, ability to process payments through your host is a must and most important thing that i look for is the support.

    I use justhost, I think is pretty good. I have used a lot of UK based hosts, but they always charge a killing. I find US based big players charging a fraction of teh price, very good chat/email support.

    So main points price and support.

    Setting up a new site
    Moving an existing site to a new host
    Changing domains
    Setting up third party software like eCommerce Shopping Carts and Affiliate software
    DNS and Nameserver changes
    Setup and maitenance of Databases, FTP accounts and all the tools need by a IM to operate correctly
    Can do attitude

    It would be ideal to see packages that allows unlimited domains to be hosted in one package. Then 99.9% uptime rate(truly important!!!) and yes support especially to those who are first time in making a website, installing wordpress or moving.
