For blogs, is Blogger better than Wordpress?

Or vice-versa?

I thought about using a blog for marketing purposes.

I'm in love with Wordpress. The flexibility and volume of great plugins and themes. I use it for all my sites.

Do you mean Blogger.com verses Wordpress.com for non self hosted Blogs?

Or do you mean Wordpress blog of your own on your own site versus Blogger?

Wordpress.com Versus Blogger... I go with Blogger just because Google owns them LOL

Technically I don't see where either is better than the other...

As for running your own blog on your own site...

I would recommend taking advantage of all the free traffic building options like Blogger, Wordpress.com, hubpages, squidoo, etc... to funnel traffic to your main site...

      However business models vary 8)

Wordpress is most powerful and most customizable. It has a bunch of useful plug-ins developed by users everywhere.

go with wordpress if you can pop the few bucks for a domain. Otherwise, blogger works. google loves wordpress though from my experience.

If you want a free blog use blogger. Free wordpress blogs don't allow commercial content so they aren't good for marketers.

The best option is to install wordpress on your own hosting account.

I use both for autoblogging (via contentboss, obviously) to automatically create real-looking backlinks to my main sites.

Blogger to be fair does seem to get google's attention faster (at least in the nniches I'm using). BUT... (and its a big one) You can host wordpress sites anywhere, so you can really start to build up big arrays of IP c blocks promoting your sites.

And wordpress, of course, has loads of lovely templates and freebies, if that sort of thing is useful to you.

If you just want to blog by hand (some people still do, apparently), then wordpress would always be my first choice.

btw, if you don't know what autoblogging is, try bloggerhigh.com

Definitely Wordpress for customization abilities. Most of the blogging pros (those who don't create rubbish sites) use it.

Blogger shouldn't be compared to Wordpress since it is very limited.
