A few observations and words of caution..

  1. Forum posts are not necessarily factual or accurate.
  2. Opinions are like assholes, everyones got one.
  3. Unless you know the poster personally, you don't know the poster.
  4. Post count is just a number it says nothing about quality or credibility.
  5. You don't know the "state" of the person posting (Drugs, Alcohol, stupidity, insanity?)
  6. You may not know the true intent behind the post.
  7. This is not a customer support forum
  8. If it's not about making money it shouldn't be in the main forum.
  9. It's OK to question and challenge the content of a post.
  10. Members have a responsibility to the forum.

    This is a reason why ebooks, manuals, and proper lessons will always have their place. Ebooks are (often) devoid of emotional clutter, as I call it.

    I see people saying they spend all day learning on this forum and I get worried. I don't believe you can't learn everything from a forum.

    You wouldn't take military lessons or web development lessons solely from a forum. For a computer game, maybe.

    You need manuals, you need mentors and you need tools. This forum is only another tool.

      I actually have to disagree here.
      I believe the WF has bunch of methods people can study.
      Taking action is something people just don't do!

      I agree that you need manuals and a mentor can do wonders
      for you. But saying that the WF is just another tool, I can't
      agree to that because it's so much more.

      People have actually started $20.000 to $30.000 businesses
      just using the WF.

    Great stuff John! These two are my peeves, as so many people get shot down in
    flames for contributing here...from newbies who ask simply questions to veterens
    who try and offer their opinions.

    Seems often, just as real life, the middle man who struggles along with the pack
    is the one that is "safest".

    I am personally tired of people telling others they can and can't offer their opinionated
    views on IM. That's what this forum is for, just like all groups based around freedom of
    speech.

    And boy, dare he who challenges a post or a poster for whatever reason...or, dare I
    say it, challenge a "guru" about their product, views or comments, for he shall be
    stricken down with wrath from the mighty hand of troll lord.

    (tongue in cheek, don't moderate me please!).

        Little has changed about forums since those times. I want to be challenged, I want to be corrected and I want to learn. Unfortunately, forums today also attract trolls and idiots who are not interested in those concepts - they cannot accept any conflicting viewpoints.

        The big problem with these folks is that they cannot accept that there are no absolutes when it comes to business (except of course that their are no absolutes, LOL).

        Forum participation requires an open mind, a certain amount of objectivity and a willingness to accept, respect and be tolerant of the beliefs of others.

      I agree that Internet marketers should not only use this forum for their education. However, I believe that Internet Marketers can benefit from information on the warrior Forum on different topics related to Internet Marketing. In addition, Internet marketers can invest in Products that are related to Internet Marketing. Internet Marketers can also develop a relationship with an Internet Marketer who will take the time to mentor him or her.

        Actually I think this whole community is built on support. That's what makes it so great. I'd even say that this is a support forum. I see support from amazing people everywhere. I also think people should be less paranoiac. It's very important that we self-regulate and separate the "good fruit" from the "bad fruit." However from an outsider looking in all the squabbling that goes on in this community (Internet marketing) is kind of pathetic.

          forum was about people asking for technical support here
          rather than contacting the supplier of the product or service.

          I guess that says a lot about the strength of this forum when
          you can get an answer more quickly here than you can from
          many people's help desks!

    However I would like to point out that I found it funny that you would post this thread (about observations of posts) in this forum (about making money) and then write as your #8:
