Decrease Refund Rate With This SMART Technique

If you are trying to decrease refund rate or serial refunders, here is a great way to do it.

Promise a series of high quality bonuses send to them over the next 30 or 60 days. That way, anyone who purchase your main product would not ask for refund or they are not able to get the bonuses you promised.

Great tactic to keep the refund rate low

It is a great tactic, most people have been subjected to it without knowing.

I usually offer drip feed training videos related to the products i am promoting (if they are other peoples).

Offering anything with value over a period of time will not only help you keep your refund rates low, but will also develop a relationship with the customer - meaning you'll be able to sell to them again with much better results =)

    A nice bonus always helps

Also, it is a good idea to think about adding more time on the guarantee

The more time given, the easier it is to lose track of time or just forget about it entirely.

If you have a 15 money back guarantee they will rush through the ebook, blueprint, report, or whatever. Try having a guarantee for 45 or even 60 days!

Not only is it a benefit for purchasing your product but it also saves you!

      Good point.

I also noticed that for some reason, the longer the money back guarantee i offer the lower the refund rate.

Well providing quality products should also be a plus

If you're confident of your product i suggest providing a 90 days guarantee..

      This would greatly increase conversion.

Speaking of refunds. The usual time-line I run into and what my company offers is 60 days. However, lately I have been noticing 56 days. Why the odd (in this case) number?

56 days is 8 week. I believe clickbank changed their policy from 8 weeks to 60 days a while back.

It also helps accounts departments. You get a lot of people email in on day 59/60 and it goes past the 60 day PayPal window making it awkward for all concerned. So if you say 56 days it gives you a window of a few days to make good on the refund without extra hassle.

Great Tip....I will have to add that to my sales process.

This tactic reminds me of something I would learn from John Reese or Frank Kern.

  • In my experience, that didnt work. I set up an autoresponder for my customer-only list, releasing a cool bonus every week they remained as customers all the way to the refund deadline... people loved it, but I didnt notice any drop-down in my refund rates.

Those who were going to stay as customers anyway loved the weekly bonus and thanked me for it. Those who were going to refund the product ended up doing so regardless of the bonuses.
