Your Opinion: Opt in or Discount in Exitpop?

Hello,

I have a tested and winning offer that I've just moved to Clickbank to allow affiliates to begin promoting as well.

I'm considering using Popup Domination or Exit Splash or something similar to display a message to my exiting traffic.

Particularly with traffic coming from affiliates, would it be advisable to simply have a lead magnet optin offer in an exit pop/redirect or an immediate discount on the product?

I've heard smart marketers saying both and seen them doing both. Which do you think would be most effective and why? (obviously the only real way to know is to test, but this goes to deciding which to test first)

Just test both options. It does not matter what others say. You hav to find out what works best for your site.

I would always use the optin offer. But you have to test.

I think offering a discount with an exit pop is shooting yourself in the foot.

First of all, you are devaluing the original offer. It's almost like saying to me that I would have been stupid had I bought at the original price.

Second, you are teaching me that when I see your products, always try to exit before buying to see how low your price will get.

Obviously, you can test, but that is my perception as a buyer.
