About - App Inventor for Android
As soon as I saw it I thought the Warrior forum dudes need to see it too.

Haven't tried it out yet - downloading the installer right now, and I don't know if selling the Apps is against the ToS (couldn't find anything to say it wasn't but haven't looked properly.. so make sure you check for yourself).

Looks like it could be cool if you're spending a small fortune on building apps.

I've used this tool last year when it was in Beta. It's pretty cool and easy to use. While you can create some interesting stuff, I'm not sure how robust of an app you can do with this tool alone. It's Google's own, so as far as I know you can submit them to the Android Market.

Have used it and is quite a slick idea for beginners in this such as myself. It takes out one big factor which is syntax errors. It is easy as drag and drop. The only thing that I don't like about it is that you don't have access to EVERY aspect of the droid such as the light sensor or the flash component. Though I do see how it could be beneficial once all of the remaining features have been added.

Nice, thanks for the link here. I've been wanting to look more into app creation lately. Something basic would be nice to start with.

I signed up for that and was all excited to make some cool apps for the android market. And alas my hopes were dashed for now. You can make the apps but you can't upload them to the market.

More like free market research. But things could change.

You may also want to check the terms of service for using their app. The devil is in the details. Don't blindly click agree !

hodari is true. You cant upload these apps to the market. I found this about 2 months back.. its kinda useless if your looking to make an app for the market.

I remember when it first come out the documentation stated that one could, but it does look like they ran into issues:

Qustion: Am I able to upload my app to the Android Market?
Answer: Currently there are technical limitations preventing an App Inventor app from being uploaded to the Android Market, but we are actively working to resolve this.

I got this from the FAQ page here: User FAQ - App Inventor for Android

Hopefully, it won't be too much longer.

There actually is a way to upload the apps to the market, it involves the SDK (Software Developers Kit) and a ton of steps. but it is possible.. if you google it some one has a decent guide on how to do it.

It's a great tool, but unfortunately you can't submit them to the android marketplace. Yet.

Yes you CAN upload apps created with the Google tool to the Android market, but not directly. Not only can it be done, but there are inexpensive services out there that will do it FOR you.
