Selling alcohol/liquor?

Hi guys,
Looking for a niche, I'm thinking about selling a specific liquor.
I'm not sure if a license is needed, I don't think so.

Does any of you have any experience selling alcohol as an affiliate?
Any advices?

Thanks!

ceduk, it depends on what states you will do business. Most will require a license to sell alcohol. Some states will not even allow you to sell alcohol at all (Utah).

Do your research on the laws before getting into this.

As said above, you'll need to get a license to sell liquor!

        Thanks for your answers.
I'd be targeting the US, no particular State.

I want to promote a liquor as an affiliate. Clients wouldn't buy on my website.

I initially thought that should be fine, but still have some doubts

Well if you are an affiliate you'll simply be promoting the alcohol and not actually selling it.

So are you looking to actually stock and ship the booze (and run an affiliate program) or are you just wanting to promote someone else's product and collect a commission when a sale is made?

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

If it can be advertised on television then it can be advertised via your website. Advertising gambling to some US states is prohibited and still hitting the courts. But you should be fine unless the vendor breaks the law, then there may be some liability if an issue originates from your website. And now we have the entire sales tax issue that is springing up in many states. But that's a different can of worms.

What Advertising Networks are you promoting your Alcoholic beverages on? I know that a lot of sites like Google and Bing don't allow it. I wanted to promote an electric cigarette, but can't find a network that allows this.

You are correct. I promote those as well.

I don't however, pay for advertising or traffic. I stopped doing that a long time ago. All organic - all the way. No restrictions there.

If you are not actually selling alcohol you are fine. How would it ever come back on you? You are just advertising.
