Blog posting affiliate links?

Has anyone ever posted a non-spammy, relevant comment to a blog and instead of just putting their main website, put a redirect to an affiliate link? Or has anyone who has their own product linked to their landing page?

I'm curious if this has worked to increase conversions.

    I haven't done it, but as a blogger I delete that sort of comment right away as it's just basically spam. I don't want my site to be a place for people to park their affiliate links. Besides, the commenter might be promoting a product as an affiliate that I promote as an affiliate too, so they'd be potentially stealing my commission. This is my personal feeling; I'm not sure how other bloggers view it. Interested in seeing what people think.

    If comments are moderated, I'd be surprised if that type of comment would not be deleted.

    I have never done that, but you don't want to get shut out of commenting if it gets noticed.
