postcard - slick design or neon yellow all over?

We are stepping into some offline postcard marketing to drive traffic to a squeeze page.

Before I ask the question you need to know, these postcards will be handed to prospects directly not mailed.

Which has been proven to perform better in getting people back to the web site that you know of (our copy is good, just thinking about the card it's on now):

The slick full color design? Or the straight forward black text on a neon color? Something in the middle?

Thanks in advance!

Slick, full-color design. From a female point of view anyway. Neon annoys me and I just want to throw it away.

Wow, black on white? Really? Thanks Robert for that feedback. It's a good thing too that black on white is cheapest.

Perdant44, thanks for your two cents as well. I do appreciate it.

I guess, at the end of the day, it all goes back to good copy more than anything.

Keep your target audience in mind too. What performs well in one niche may not necessarily perform as well in another.

I've done lots of testing on post card color over the years.

This particular product always pulled best....

Amazon.com: Wausau Paper Astrobrights Colored...Amazon.com: Wausau Paper Astrobrights Colored...
    (it's not an affiliate link)

You can probably get it at the print shops at FedExKinkos, or Staples, or Office Depot.

Do not accept a substitute - this particular company, brand, and color and post card weight.

As always, my best to you --

One recent direct marketing tutorial suggests black on pale colored paper most often tested best, like the colors of multi-part forms. He suggested glossy ad postcards get tossed on first filtering pass. Looking less commercisl with hand written looking address fonts and stamps seem to improve direct marketing masilings.

Handouts are bound to test differently.
