Need some advice for hosting

Hi All!

I need some advice for hosting my first website *ooooh, so excited*.

Things people recommended me:
- Hostgator: Unlimited domains (Not sure if I'm going to register more domains soon?), great support, unlimited brand with, unlimited disk space.
- A dutch hosting company (called webreus.nl): Someone in real life can help me here in my own language (skype), he thinks this is all I'll need.

My website will be a blog about internet marketing, so not a lot of vid's etc.

If you need more info, or you have advice for me; please comment!

-Jelle

Hostgator is what I use and am very happy with it. Installing a Wordpress blog is as simple as clicking a couple of buttons through their cpanel.

I recommend going with a reputable hosting company.

As for having someone help you in your native language... If you think that's more important than 99.9% uptime for your server, then by all means go for it.

    Cheers!

I also heard Hostgator's support is awesome, my english (reading & understanding) is pretty good... The thing he says against this is: "But you don't get an direct reply". Well, that's true: but he helped me yesterday with something and didn't know what to do, did it myself in an hour, took him an hour to know that he can't get it done...

I would suggest finding another niche - perhaps some topic you have experience or interest in already.

The most common topic of a new marketers site or blog is "internet marketing" - but it's not a good choice.

The IM niche is flooded with sites/blogs by experts with years of experience and you can't compete in the "make money" niche when you haven't made money yourself yet.

I know most new marketer ignore this advice - and most then complain "it's not working for me". Of course not - other equally new marketers don't want to learn from a newbie and they don't bother to "watch me as I learn about IM". It's self-defeating and an IM newbie will have a far easier time choosing something other than the "IM niche".

Internet marketing includes anything that is being sold online - from physical products to digital products to services and information. If you focus on a niche where you have some knowledge, it's much easier to position your site and appeal to that market.

That said - Hostgator is what you want for hosting. If language is a serious problem, the other option might work fine but I've never heard of them so don't know.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

I use Namecheap, and they work well for me. I also have a Hostgator account and so far nothing but great service from them.

Cheap is not always better. Especially when choosing a host for your websites. Hostgator is cheap as far as price goes but not service. I would personally recommend you spend the extra couple of bucks a month for Hostgator. You wouldn't believe what sort of problems you can get into with hosting companies who aren't quite up to par. I think I am on the $10 a month package and i have not had any issues with BW.
