First of all, hey! I've been away for a while busy with other endeavors. Anyway, I'd like to talk about listbuilding. Here are the main points I'd like to discuss.

1. Is listbuilding as effective, more effective or less effective than other income streams such as CPA or product creation?

2. What methods are the most effective to build a list?

3. How many people should you have on your list to generate a good income?

    1. List building can use those sales methods you mentioned (CPA and product creation.

    2. Send targeted traffic to your squeeze page with a related free gift...I would clarify but I can think of 1000 ways to do this.

    3. Depends on the niche. I have a list of 500 that has made over $20,000....and I have lists of a couple thousand that make much less.

    List building is just database marketing. With a database, you give yourself more opportunities to connect with potential customers and more opportunities to promote what you have.

    Database marketing could include emails, phone numbers, addresses, etc. You just deliver the information in a different medium depending on the "list" you've built.

    I've had some good success with using a squeeze page as an exit page after visitors leave my sales page. I offer them a video or video series for their email. The most important thing in a list is having a good, quality autoresponder series setup. At the very least, you need to send out a blast to them every week or more to keep them reading your emails.

      It's hard to say as there are so many different variables you could take into consideration. I'm not really a big fan of CPA, but I use list building and product creation in conjuction with each other. Build a list, then create your own products and promote those to your subscribers.

      2. What methods are the most effective to build a list?       I'm sure opinions will vary on this but I find article marketing, guest posting, forum posting, and solo ads work well for me. I'm pretty sure free WSO's work well in the internet marketing niche. And PPC probably works well if you know what you're doing (which I don't).

      3. How many people should you have on your list to generate a good income?

      The general consensus is that you should be able to earn $1 per subscriber per month, so I'm guessing maybe 1000-2000 subscribers would be a good start. Of course alot of people earn alot less than that per subscriber (and a few earn alot more), it depends on how you treat your list. My own lists currently average at about $1.20 per subscriber, which I'm okay with.

    List building can be just as effective, more effective or less effective than CPA or product creation. It really depends on the conversion ratios of each method. The methods that are most effective at building a list are usually adswaps, article submissions with links to squeeze pages, Facebook fan pages, YouTube channels and Twitter followers. To generate a good income, it depends on what kind of buyers you have on your list. Drip feeding a large list with free offers every week with upsells, can net you the same revenue as a small list of monthly subscribers to a high end product or course. So it really depends on what kind of buyers you have and what kind of products you're selling.
