Hi all,

Quick question: How do you get traffic? What are your sources? Free or paid traffic?

90% of my traffic is organic generated by SEO.

I do get some residual traffic from the articles I submit as part of
      my SEO.

I also get traffic from posting in forums, depending on the niche, but
      like articles it is short-lived.

      I never pay for traffic.

A good place to get traffic from a Squidoo Lens and have a outgoing link to your site. Google loves Squidoo

This is something I am looking to go into this weekend.

My main traffic source is odd. It's IGN, the gaming site. They linked to one of my game sites a few times, and it's driven around 500 people a day ever since. I used to get about 200 people a day from search to the site from Google, but I believe it got sandboxed about a week ago and we haven't had any search traffic from Google since. Yahoo and Bing still bring in some decent numbers though.

I get 90% of my traffic from the search engine as well and of course mostly from G. The rest are combination of social bookmarking, article marketing, and from other sites that have linked to mine.

Free: SEO, articles (guest posts and article directories), Answers sites, bookmarks, Web 2.0 sites, good commenting on blogs, YouTube, links from other high quality sites that link to you voluntarily (one of my personal sites has been used for a source on multiple Wikipedia pages-- someone else did this not me, that's key-- and now that's the biggest source of traffic to that site)

Paid: Adwords, paid placements, Facebook advertising
