Found A Great Niche But....

I've found a great untapped niche......

Affiliate products are readily available in the market and after a couple of days of keyword research I've concluded that the amount of potential traffic is good, and my chances in beating the competition is likely.

However the commerciability of bulk of my keywords is poor.

How do I know the commerciability of my keywords are poor? Because! Detecting Online Commercial Intention: Audience Intelligence: adCenter Labs says so, and I'm seeing about a $0.50 figure on SpyFu.com (I don't intend on using Adsense for this site).

However products exists in this market, and they are selling.

So should I forget what Msn Labs & Spyfu tell me? Or should I stick to the rules?

Sam

P.S. This would be a mini authority site (Starting off with around 25 pages).

If you know companies are selling them and make profits online, go for it. Maybe it is just because your keywords aren't used by them.

You lost me when you said you have found an untapped niche with affiliate products available. I don't think a niche with products is untapped. Am I missing something?

    • Tricky one. I like to go for at least 50% OCI, but ideally 80% and up.
That said, it is just a rough guide. If you're up for it, set the site up. The beauty of IM is that it's so affordable to setup a site, that you can always use this one as a pet project if you want and create a few other sites with higher OCI. Trust your gut. At the end of the day, you're only risking about $10 for the domain name....go for it.
