Hello everyone;

Has anyone got good tips on how to pick good forums to drive traffic?

I am not sure which one to pick, there are many of them but am a bit lost.

Thanks

Yoan

    Depends on the niche you are going with. If it is Internet marketing, you are in the best forum in the world. Their is also Abestweb, honestworkfromhomeforum.com, workfromhome forum.com

    It all depends on what niche you are going after..

      Thanks for your answer! No it isn't on internet marketing! One is on alternative medicine and the other on ovarian cysts; I am promoting clickbank products!

    Health niche's are pretty good for forums as well I'd think (IM must be the best though).

    Find forums and become an active member. I don't think there is a silver bullet, other than spending time and showing yourself to be an authority on the subject

    Read our most recent articles on wine, this month it's that unappreciated region called Napa Valley.

    A great way would be to make a list of keywords and type each of them in Google. The forums that appear closest to the top of the results or on the first 2 pages are usually the ones you would want to go with. You can also find high traffic forums in Alexa. These are sorted by topic and category.

    All good advice. I would add that I look to see if there appears to be recent activity, i.e., posts to threads. If so, it means the forum is active. If you can't find a forum that is active within your niche, you may need to look at redefining it.

      Do a search for '[keyword] forum' on google. Most markets are like this, if there is a subject matter that people are passionate about, there'll be people talking about it in forums and communities. In the case that you can't find forums, oftentimes you might need to broaden your market. E.g. gardening might be a subset of home improvement. so if you can't find gardening forum, look for home improvement forum, and somewhere in that community there's a subset talking about gardening. Try going up the ladder. Almost every market is a subset of a bigger market.

      The 80/20 rule applies - only 20% are active. You want to focus on the active ones. See which ones are busy, active.

      Or try searching for 'list of [keyword] forums' to see if other people have already compiled a list of top forums for you!
