Magento, hands down. I am in the process of migrating my Oscommerce site over to it. Its open source as well. Check out their demo store, its pretty sweet.

I just don't like the monthly reoccuring fee they charge. I"m going to put this on my marketingrats.com website. Its going to take a while to implement and I don't want to keep on paying monthly fees until this gets off the ground.

      Thoughts?

What monthly charge are you referring to? Magento is open source and doesn't cost anything.

I looked at the website...at the demo and it looks like there is a monthly fee.

    Zencart
Look at the stores in my signature. Those are just a few of what I have
I just did basic templates but my tech has designed some pretty fancy ones.

I wouldn't pay monthly fees either.

This cart does physical products and downloadables.

I like your batalionline.com store. Do you have a script for that?

      Thanks,

Thats a zencart store with a really basic template

A couple others I have are
Beauty In Glass, Beautiful Hand Blown works of Art
    Doggie Charms

You can check out my clients store at Home Heating | Air Conditioning | Do It Yourself Supplies | Low Cost (that one is very basic as well and will soon be running in the "background" of the main CMS site after a major facelift)

    Chris,

Zencart is usually included in Fantastico (in your cpanel) in the ecommerce section.

If not you can download it free at:
shopping cart software | Zen Cart Ecommerce Solution

Then just find a template you like and install it.

Debbie the security certificate has expired on one of your domains. If one tries to purchase something he won't be able to.

Thanks I know about that one - I've been struggling with that one. The old one keeps popping up. I'll have to redo it.

I have personally used OScommerce (actually CREloaded) for most of my businesses. If you are not familiar with CREloaded it's basically the oscommerce shopping cart with a bunch of the more popular extensions built in.

Oscommerce is awesome but aged a bit. However, they are about to release version 3 according to their website. I think it will be out some time in February if you can wait that long. They do have an alpha release that you can download and play with.

Magento is very cool. I like the built in product import features. It's a lot better than the ezpopulate addon for oscommerce and it does what I need to do.

If you need something basic then oscommerce or zencart should work fine. If you need a more advanced solution try CREloaded or Magento.
