Need serious advice about that subject !

Hello,

This is my first post here on that forum .... I need advice ... Yesterday someone contacted me and told me that she was from the Business Success Team (need to mention that it is the second time that they are contacting me) and that they specialize in making success stories with online marketer who are trying to start their business ....

She ask me a couple of question and then she said to me that I had the potential to become a "success story" .... then she ask me how much money do I have to invest and mentioned that I would make back that money in around 2 months and even might be in profit ... then she told me that I can get a pre-approved credit card at 0% interest to start with them ....

So did anyone heard of that team ?
I really need you advice on that ...
I am a go getter and I want to start my online business ...
I am with Worldprofit and the profit is more for them then for me even if I work my butt of .... the thing is saturated .... so I am quitting them ....

Thank you in advance for you help

Take no more advice on this past this post.

It screams con. They want to make you a success and want to know how much you have to invest?

      Don't even consider it.

they specialize in making success stories with online marketer who are trying to start their business ....
...No, they make a lot of money by convincing newbies to part with their cash in the hope of a business you can do perfectly well yourself, without them.

A little more info on this.

First, they ask how much you have to invest, and if you give them a number over $2,500 - why, that is amazingly enough ALMOST what their course costs. Because they know you HAVE a little more, you just wanted not to spend it.

Second, if they DON'T get a number over $2,500, they will tell you it's $2,500. Because statistically, this is the most common credit limit on the card you never use because it's ONLY for emergencies. Then they will ask if you have $2,500 available... maybe something you've put away for an emergency?

Third, if you say you don't have $2,500 available, they will drop the price to $1,500 - because this is the next most common limit on that emergency card.

Fourth, if you still don't have any such investment available, they'll offer to send you a catalog. Except they don't just send you a catalog. They have a partner at an extortionate credit card company who will send you a card application for a $1,500 limit credit card first. And then you get the catalog... right around the same time you get your card!

And no matter how you slice it, they get paid by the credit card company for the lead, and if you get approved for the card they get paid a commission.

That's how this little boiler-room coaching business works. And if you buy the coaching, you'll often find that the "hotline" isn't available and nobody ever calls you back and "support" keeps you on hold forever. Because you can get away with promising everything and delivering nothing... if you're willing to accept a 50% refund rate.

Yep, you heard right. About 50% of the people who order something and don't get it never even ask for their money back.

Quite a racket, really, and it's amazing the people who do it aren't in prison.

Listen, I use to trade Commodities and this is the same type of tactics they used to get clients. Don't trust anyone who calls you on the phone and ask you for money.

This is a "boiler room" concept. And they prey on old people. I did not do that because I was trading my own account. Boiler room people stay on the phone all time and make tons of phone calls.

Keep in mind, what they were doing was none of my business. I'm an expert at minding my own business!

          Jimmy.

Absolutely stay away from them and if they call again, tell them to take you off their list. If they continue to call, tell them your going to report them. When I first started out, that worked for me.

I don't have a problem with cold calling. But based on my experience, the clients that I've gotten from call calling in the past have been a pain, long term. The best clients are the ones who find you.

I don't have a problem with cold calling businesses.

I have a problem with cold calling and trying to extract as much money as you can from someone.

If you cold call and say "I have this thing, it costs this much" - then deliver what you promised - I am 100% on board with that and more power to you.

But when you say "I have... something... how much money you got?"

That, I have a problem with.

Here is what I witness. They would call and say something like if you invest $25,000 and tell the prospect how much they can make in returns if the Market moves in their favor.

Then the prospect says, well I only have $5,000 to invest. They will put you on hold and act like they are talking to their Manager and tell the person on the phone something like this. "let me see if we can handle an account that small"

While the prospect is on the phone they may take a smoke break or play a hand of poker. After a few minutes they would pick up the phone and say. "guess what! The manager says we might be able to help if you transfer the money today"

The idea is to appeal to your greed.

I think the "gurus" don't ask for the amount you are willing to invest when they call - I haven't have a call from one though and i think there's none in my country. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Anyway, I used to work on a "telemarketing firm" I may say and we call CEO's, COO' CFO' GM's etc.. and that was one of our tactics. I had doubts on the legality of the things I was doing so I decided to Google "cold calling" and that's when I found out it was scam. I quit my job that's why I'm here to learn IM.

If ever they'll call you again, tell them you know who they are and you'll let the authorities know, for sure they won't bother you anymore.

I'd run like the wind and tell them not to call again. My guess is that if you tell them that you have $30,000 to spend on being a success, that's what it'll cost. If you have $10,000 to spend, that's what it'll cost. These telemarketing make money opportunities ... I've never read ANYONE say that they got what they wanted from it. Most people say that they were ripped off.

Please....don't give these scam merchants any of your hard-earned cash. I got caught by a similar outfit last year (Achieve Technologies) and handed over a large chunk of $$$ - only then did I do any research. I didn't like what I saw and contacted my credit card company straight away to do a chargeback. Thankfully, they obliged, and I never heard from this crowd again.

Trust me on this and run away from this one as fast as you can.
