How should I sign up for Amazon affiliate program

I'm trying to sign up for the Amazon affiliate program but it is asking for my website and what products I am going list on my website. The problem is that I want to sell all different kinds of amazon products and I planned on making separate websites for each product I find. All the established websites I have now do not go good with any amazon products so I was just going to make a general website that could be used for anything and then sign up with that. The problem is that if I make a brand new site my unique visitors count will be 0 per month. Will amazon deny my application because of low traffic?

Hey topfree,

No, I don't think Amazon would reject anybody from their affiliate program based on low (or zero) traffic.

They ask for a website and what products you intend to promote because they want to make sure you will 'legitimately' market their products. Most affiliate programs (with the exception of promoting digital stuff on Clickbank) want to see at least SOME kind of website that YOU own and control before they let you sign up.

I'd say just pick a category of products in Amazon to put on your application... And you can always expand and do more once you've been approved.

Good thinkin' on making separate sites for each product though - Much more targeted (and easier to monitor your best performing products) than if you just had one huge site that promoted everything under the sun.

I created a quick blog on Blogger using articles I got from EZA and then applied that way. Was accepted. Before you get too excited about Amazon Associates BE SURE that the program is still available for your state. If you are not eligible (because of your state's TAX laws) absolutely DO NOT enter your payment information until you can get a bank account opened in another state or else you risk getting locked out of your account.
