Outsourcing For "Likes"

Michelle: I have been looking at many of the outsourcing sites with much interest and noticed a big offer seems to be in paying to get "likes" to your site. My question is, unless those "likes" are targeted, isn't this a fruitless way to build your FB site?

    I buy a lot of untargetted and more than likely fake likes. The reason I buy them is social proof for a new site. If you have 1000 likes, people are more likely to not only like you, but to subscribe, join, buy, whatever.

    It's deceptive (and boy do I not want to get into that on another thread) but the fact is, a lot of likes, targetted or not, real or fake, increases conversion, so do with that what you will.

    It's called herd mentality. People see plenty of likes and they think it's something popular that they should get in on, even if it's not liked by someone they know. Considering the services are relatively inexpensive, it seems like a good idea.

      I'm Michelle!!! I know, I need to add profile details! I am 100 NEW to all of this so am spending every spare moment I have reading, watching, posting, building etc. and haven't had time to add who I am!

      This might show how much of a novice I am and I almost hate to ask ;-) but what is Farmville???? I can Goggle and will but just thought I'd ask! I want to know best way to make money online (don't we all!!) and I am willing to work hard (and smart) to get it. Having limited funds won't stop me as I will make money and put it back into my business to succeed!!! Any advice would be appreciated!!! I want to join the WAR ROOM as this looks like a great place to be and I will join wen I can afford it!!!

    I don't, but a lot of people will like a page if it already has a ton of people on board. It's a good way to start a page out.

    I have a few Fan Pages and I have done the exact method as you mention. I have used sites like freelancer.com and fiverr to get there. I agree with Eric, after I had a certain amount of likes, my fans doubled almost over night. Give it a shot, why not?

    I also buy likes from sites like Fiverr, but check the feedback as there are a lot of dud gigs on the site that simply don't deliver. Buying likes is something I'm not keen on but it sure gives your page a boost and in double quick time.

      My experiences with Fiverr Like Buys isn't impressive at all. I'd rather pay more for a real business that will see to it that Likes are actually added.

    Agreed on this, blank likes will not benefit your business but it can give a jump start for your fan page. People will likely like if they see that are several others who did before them. It seems to be the common reaction.

    http://twiends.com is a great tool to exchange LIKE.
    You can register an account and add your Twitter to follow others to earn SEEDS, which used to paid those who like your page. Then add your Facebook account to it to be liked by others with the same interest.
    But, don't misuse it. It is a cool way to brand a page at the beginning. Don't depend on it to get lots of LIKEs, it would make no sense.

    A large number of LIKES definitely adds a level of credibility and social proof.....however, at the end of the day you must convert folks into fully devoted followers with whom you have developed trusted relationships if you want those LIKES to equate to $$$.
