Default Would It Be More Effective If ...

When marketing to other internet marketers people cut back on the hype?

When I see a sales page which looks like something I've seen hundreds of times before I start snoozing. I suppose for people that are "new" and haven't been exposed to this kind of advertising it could be more effective. I honestly wouldn't know. And I suppose that why I'm asking the question.

But I wonder whether there's so many people using the same kind of headline and website approach that eventually people are going to get tired of it. One person I know who knows nothing about Internet Marketing started mocking the word emphasis (bold and yellow highlight) which I thought was interesting as he must have seen that a lot.

For me, and perhaps other internet marketers, I'm much more likely to read a sales letter if it isn't the same old same old. Meaning that it isn't hyped up with words like "Amazing" and "Killer" and about 10 or 20 others. Because that makes me yawn. I'd much rather see something simple and straight-to-the point such as:

"How I Generate 1,000 New Subscribers Daily And Why I'm Willing To Share This Method With 50 People."

When I look at effective web page design including DoubleYourDating's landing page and products either from or affiliated with Angora they're very simple. No fancy graphics. No bells and whistles. Just a white background and a headline and sometimes a picture. For example I think this is a very captivating web design: Stop Your Divorce! By Homer McDonald. Something I'd take the time to read (great credibility with the picture) if I wanted to stop my divorce. That kind of web design and non-hypey headline is what I would read. And I think it could be worth testing if you're marketing to other Internet Marketers.

Or is the hype approach simply too effective?
