Has Anyone Mastered Social Network Marketing Yet?

INTERNET MARKETING

I know social network marketing is still new compared to other forms of marketing, but has anyone mastered it yet? It seems most network marketing sites have lookers, viewers and visitors but few buyers.

Any tips, suggestions or thoughts?

There will NEVER be anyone that can master any marketing method. All you can do is keep trying.

Personally, I have found that the traffic quailty you get from social media is crap and isn't worth building a list off of. There are FAR way better ways to build a high quailty list from.

I continue the process of building a following on the various social networks. After building a nice friendship with some Facebook friends, a few have become clients of my company. However, this happened gradually. We became friends first and the issue of business came up later. I also found that speaking to these friends, either by telephone or Skype, was really important to helping this along. It is certainly a balancing act as I realize the importance, and satisfaction, of building and maintaining friendships.

In my experience, social networks are full of people who spend 80%-90% of their total internet use on that particular network. They are very unfamiliar with a lot of what us marketers are exposed to on a daily basis. I've found that the more I can relate to potential readers/buyers on a personal level (their particular lifestyle, interests) the more they tend to pay attention to what Im "promoting". This allows me to gauge their values and I have a better idea of what to come up with in terms of free content, freebies, guides, ebooks, videos, software, coupon codes etc. Building trust is always my main goal.
