Selling ebook: Amazon or Clickbank?

if you have an ebook like weight loss, which of these service would you prefer and why?

Does Amazon honor refunds? Does it requires upfront fee for listing your product? I have lots of questions regarding listing your product on Amazon as I can't find the real answer.. Hoping to be cleared out here..

thanks,
adie

it depends upon the kind of ebook, target customers.

IMO fiction sells better on AMazon, but if you want to make it really profitable then ClickBank is certainly the best way.

    PS:
    why not both?

i suggest clickbank but i doubt you arent allowed to sell your product at different places such as paydotcom, clickbank, etc.

Clickbank gets my vote too.... Higher commissions - drive more affiliates - which will make you more money.

A niche like weight loss is right up Clickbank's alley. Not only do you have the higher price point, but I couldn't think of any digital goods affiliate network that has more gung-ho affiliates ready to promote your product.

Weight loss, while very competitive, will not inundate you with refunds like it would if it were an internet marketing product.

The key to growing your bottom line is your affiliates, building your own affiliate program within Clickbank, where the only products being promoted are yours only.

If you can afford it, I would first get a monthly membership with one of the digital goods security services like Book Guard Pro or something similar, they even have a 30 day trial for $2.97 last time I checked.

Then I would build an affiliate page on your site, or install an affiliate management script if you want to go that route.

With your affiliates you want them to want to promote your products. So what is a good way to do this? Resources. Make life easier for them:'

Have someone design some banners for your site (or you can if able), ecovers too of course, and some other graphics such as a sidebar tower.

If you have good writing skills, provide your affiliates with unique exclusive articles, write an email campaign they can use to just plugin to their email list, provide pre-written comments, ads, text links, etc. If you don't have good writing skills then try to get a deal with a copywriter, the economy sucks so people hate to turn down any kind of (reasonable) offer.

Make sure you collect your affiliates email addresses as well, after a couple years it will likely be worth more than everything else combined The best thing to do is to require affiliates to subscribe to your list in order to get access to the affiliate resource section.

Sorry for the tangent there, but many of these things I learned about after I sponsored my first couple unsuccessful Clickbank products. Would've been nice to know all this from the get go.

      Good luck with your ebook!

I've been using eJunkie and I've been pretty happy. Does anyone have experience with ejunkie vs clicbank for the specific topic of ebooks and digital downloads?

    Thanks.

  • I think you could charge more for your e-book on Clicbank. Compare the prices of books on Amazon to clickbank. I could be wrong, but from what I've seen on Clickbank they have loads of e-books priced at $29 and up, but on Amazon when you search for a book you can get them for next to nothing.

Well I like that with e-junkie I pay a flat rate $5 per mo (+ paypal fees, of course), and that they will print the customer name and invoice number on every page of the download so as to (hopefully) discourage duplication.

Does clickbank offer any major advantage over this? Is it an affiliate thing? I haven't done any kind of affiliate work yet (but I'll be starting soon).

I publish mine on amazon and click bank. It's free to list on amazon kindle and I've made sales without any promotion whatsoever.

I have the same problem and I'll vote for selling on Amazon AND Clickbank.

The only problem I see is the pricing:

I would sell my book on Clickbank for like $20. On Amazon similar books are under $10. Who would then buy mine for $20?

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks,
    Eddie
