Why can't I change the default tab for my facebook fanpage???

Have a problem that is REALLY bugging me.

With a facebook fanpage you should be able to make a welcome page then edit the fanpage, go to manage permissions option and change the default landing page to your new welcome page.

Well I CAN'T!!!

Have a look at the attached screen shot of my manage permissions screen. There is no option to change default landing page.

I must be doing something wrong but for the life of me, I can't work out what.

Could some one please take pity on me and tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to set default landing page.

    It depends on the type of page you made. That is my only assumption.

      I have a question on Facebook fan pages

      Right now I have to sign in under my account then go to advertising

      then go to mange my pages and then go to my page

      is there a faster/quicker/easier way to get to my fan page?

        If you have updated to the new page, it's simple, log into your account, the click "account" at the top right. It should have an option to "Use facebook as page".

            Thank you every one for your input.

            Basically I made the wrong type of fanpage. Not every type of fanpage can be set up with the option to set the default landing page.

            When you are at the create a fanpage page, you can choose one of six different types of fanpages. I chose the first one, local business or place. Bad choice.

            If you choose the 2nd type (Company, org, inst) or the 3rd type (brand or product) you will have the option of choosing default landing page.

            Luckily I was still in the process of setting up the fanpage so not much was lost. Just have 4 fans who I need to beg to like the new replacement page. If you had thousands of fans and spent a lot of time and money in the fanpage then you are basically screwed.

    I believe you need to go to the wall post shows and hit the arrow, select the page and save changes.

    Finally organized a new fanpage with the welcome page as default landing page that you can see here China Travel Go | Facebook

    And deleted the old page. Shed a few tears over the wasted work but was just starting on it so no real loss.

      As you have discovered Facebook despite its wealth and popularity don't make anything easy, not even the simplest of tasks.
