Is .TV the next .com?

Hi.
I was just wondering if .TV will become the next .com...
because one .TV domain name sells for almost 30 bucks, while all the other .whatever name sells for under 10 bucks.

And I have even seen shows on tv that are called animalshow.TV or
somekindofshow.TV.

Is .TV the next big thing?
What do you think?

    I don't think so at all. With .tv all you can do is a tv show. with .com you can do ANYTHING!

      ".tv" is simply the national domain extension of Tuvalu.

      The government of Tuvalu is one of the owners of the company formed to license the domain-names (trading, of course, on the similarity of their extension to "television" making the extension attractive for some purposes) and the domain registration business is in fact reported to be a significant contributor to the national economy.

    I don't think there will even be a next .com. It's already ingrained in everyone's minds... The first thing that people go to is the .com

    Many people were wondering this when Tuvalu first got their country code domain extension approved.

    After a short period of time, they realised the answer was "no."

    I am rather confused as to why anyone would still be wondering this. This domain extension has been around for years. Why would people who want it not already have it?

    The only thing that has mattered and will continue to matter regardless of the domain extension is quality content. If a person visits a any domain that sucks, they're not coming back to that website.
