What information should I send in my first follow ups?

Guys, I just completed my first squezze page with Aweber subscription box in it. My niche is quitting smoking.

I got 5 follow ups to be sent day-by-day. The problem is that I'm not sure if they're good enough. I just took 5 good articles on that topic from Enzine, polished them a bit, added some graphics and put 'em in stack to be sent to my subscribers.

Now I find myself thinking that it could be not something my potential subscribers would like to read. These articles contain some good and useful information but they are likely GENERAL info. There are no any CERTAIN tips on how to quit smoking.

I picked them because I want to "prepare" readers to idea of quitting and then give them some real tips along with promoting some products but now I'm getting afraid that people will unsubcribe after reading 5 general info newsletters sent to them in the row.

Should I switch to some more useful info or maybe it's really good idea to build trust with my subscribers?

Throw those articles in the trash can.

Your follow-ups should be designed based upon several things.

#1 - What did you promise them when you asked them to sign-up. (This is the biggie, you must deliver on your promise.)

#2 - Provide quality information, an engaging story, and lead to....

#3 - What action do you want them to take from each email?

I assume you are on a few lists already. Have you ever kept the full series from anyone? Especially someone you continue following and opening their emails. Re-read their emails and use them as a guide to create your series.

If you have not saved a series of emails. Think about the persons list you enjoy the most right now, then sign up for their list again with a different email address. Start collecting their full series and learning from it.

You might even wish to sign up for a list or two from your competitors to see what they are doing, then do it better.
