An honest discussion about the quality of Clickbank products.
I suspected that there were going to be a few people hawking snake-oil at Clickbank, but I'm batting 0 for 3 so far. I got most of the way though site-building process for a couple of software products when I came across some pretty disappointing feedback online. I am afraid to investigate further in fear that I will have to throw away hours of keyword research.
It turns out that it is common to sell open-source freeware and repackage it as original. Two examples of this tactic are Illusion Mage and ProFlightSimulator, which can both be downloaded for free in the exact form you pay for. In some cases like with "Driver Robot", the software is garbage and can be found mentioned in many complaint threads on computer forums.
Now before the apologists pipe up about "Public Label Rights" and start linking to legal websites, you need not post at all. I realize it is technically legal and above board. There is no point in debating the letter of the law, but ethics are wildly subjective.
I will save the soapbox diatribe though. YES, customers can get a refund (most of the time) if they are not satisfied, but I can't in good conscience promote junk that cause people to flock to support forums and vent about how they were burned.
My question ultimately is: Can someone list some examples of Clickbank products that are not fraudulent in any way and seem like someone put some effort into making them, or should I abandon the whole thing and stick to physical products?
