Okay EzineArticle Junkies -- You Can Breathe A Sigh Of Relief Now

Just wanted to share this straight from the horse's mouth... er no disrespect intended. I mean straight from Christopher Knight, CEO of EzineArticles.

I figured with all of the coverage this has been getting lately... mainly people would be interested in hearing the real stats.

Nice to know they are still pulling in over 1 million visitors per day over there. We have done an excellent job building that site up!

Ha ha! Well, I figured we've had I don't know how many threads here on the gloom & doom, sky is falling, whatever will we all do now line of thinking.

So, for a change it might be nice to let people know things are not so bad and EZA is still pulling in a lot of traffic. The rumors of their demise might have been a little too early. And besides, it is nice to see just how powerful all of that article writing work really can be. A million visitors per day. I think even I would have a hard time screwing that up and not turning a profit.

2 weeks to get approved [is] a royal pain isn't it?

I was wondering the same thing?

Here's what I found on how to shorten they cycle time

      Faster EZA approval

True...they have taken a dip in traffic.

But its only back to the level that they were
in the middle of last year.

I dont see any reason to jump ship...

Just keep in mind Article marketing should only be 1
aspect of your marketing...not the only thing.

This ought to silence the people who have been running around saying that the "article directories are dead"

To me, it's no surprise that they are still pulling in big numbers. I hope they weed out the garbage that they let get published on there, so that they can be considered a true "article directory", instead of just a source for recycled garbage.

However, the Panda update should still be considered a major wake-up call for anyone depended solely on EZA for traffic/success. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket, folks

I suspected it was nothing close to 90%, although I've seen that figure mentioned quite a few times. My traffic from Ezinearticles hasn't really dropped at all (not that I've noticed anyway). It's good to get some clarification from EZA though.

The -90% number was the number of "page one" Google search results.

Most people who use EZA do not arrive there via the search engines, rather they have bookmarks or they simply type the url.

I have a feeling most people who don't arrive there from search engines are affiliate marketers/article marketers checking out their competitors or doing research for their next article.

If they are getting 350,000 visists per day that is less than 1 page view per registered author ( over 382,000 authors) and way less than 1 visit per article even if they get 1 million visits per day.

I would love their traffic of course and hats off to them but they are at the mercy of google and their own authors in many ways if the system stops working.

Still 350k visits per day aint bad !

You gotta ask how many authors log into the site daily. I haven't logged in at all during the last two weeks.

That's a fair point, also think of the software bots that create accounts at EA and they probably don't get used often.

I think everyone should rely on multiple traffic source ... article marketing is just one of them.

I think it is a warning to everyone to not rely on one site or one source to send or your traffic to your website. There has still been a significant change with Chris' site and with a whole range of web 2.0 websites in general. It is always recommended to stay up-to-date with what's working at a given time, and to have a diverse traffic funnel so that you are protected as much as possible whenever Google does and algorithm change.

Cleaning out the deadwood has to be a good thing. I expect EZA will come back bigger and stronger...it is easily the best of the bunch in the article directories world.
