Out Sourcing Micro Sites

What do you think is a fair price to out source micro site creation at?

I am looking to spend about $1500 with the intention of employing a VA to perform the work over a 3 - 5 month period.

I will be doing all the keyword research and providing detailed instructions, probably gonna hire someone on Odesk or a similar service probably philipines.

So what I want to know is what would warriors here consider a fair price to charge per site and what sort of time frame should they be finished in, if we assume $300 a month which is quite a good wage over there how many sites should I be looking to get up a month.

Anyone who has had experience outsourcing similar projects please comment

Thanks in advance

I don't have the experience of outsourcing micro sites.
But I think that you can completely build micro sites by yourself using WordPress.

I think you should use WordPress. It is not difficult to use and would not take you long time. Just set up the WordPress blog, install some essential plugins, like SEO plugin, super cache, social sharing plugin, etc. Then build the first micro site by posting your content. And then copy the micro site, change or customize another theme, continuing to post other content for another topic.

It is easy, would not take you long time. And can save you lots of money maybe to do the promotion. Additionally, you will find it interesting.

The issue is not that I dont know what I am doing I can build sites just fine, wordpress or HTML.

My issue is time, which is short as I have multiple other business comitments on and offline money is not an issue and ousourcing is the solution, just want to know what others have charged for similar.

You should look into working with an existing outsourcing company, dont try and manage it yourself

This is my area so I'll give you a few pointers -

Don't hire the VA's to build the sites, just let them do the links.

You simply will not get the quality you need to make money from micro niche sites with poor quality content.

When you get to the linking stage you should expect around 500 links a week per VA.

If you're on a budget then 25 links to each site will be fine providing you've done your keyword research correctly and don't mind waiting a few months for all the sites to rank.

You'd be better off paying more for someone to a decent job on 10 sites that trying to get the VA to rush out 40 a month or whatever.

Always quality, not quantity - even in the micro niche business.

    Hi Carl,

I don't think a VA is fit your requirements, if you need to build a website you will be needing web designer and web developer to that stuff. VA do SEO and some basic data entry tasks. It would be a pleasure to discuss the details of the project with you. See sig for live chat and additional info. Thanks!

Well that all depends. For more complex sites, sure you could use a web designer. But wordpress is great in that its a lot of point and click stuff, so for that you just need to document the tasks that need to be done and hand it off.

Think of it like a mcdonalds. They have a process documented for every little thing and break everything down into the most simple tasks. This way, you workers are efficient AND cheap. (not that I'm against paying a talented worker well, but I do think that if a job can get done cheaply, then thats the way to go).

    I was doing this with:

1 Content writer (Elance)@ $12 an article. 10 Articles per week

1 Web guy (Odesk)who put the site together. $8/hr and included autoresponder set-up and plug-in configuration.

1 Assistant (Phillipines direct hire). $350 per month. She also did graphics creation. She did other work for me as well so I would not consider her work full time.

Article submission/spinning, my wife did. I had my article writer do up 2 articles, one for my site and one for link-building. I had quotes for $5 an article spin & submit from some what I'd call quality candidates.

Was basically starting up a new site every 2 weeks, but now am focussing on only a few sites.

Here is what I would do (and am doing)

Create your first mini site. Have all your pages (about me, privacy, etc). Then, clone your site. There is a way to do this manually (I can give you the basic outline of what to do). There is a WSO that shows you how to do it, with video. It's basically copying all of your wordpress files and the database and editing the wp-config file.

Or you can buy backupbuddy, or better yet, get wp-twin.

Install this clone on it's own domain, change stuff around to make it more generic. Basically, you are using this setup to create a template site. All of your plugins will be installed and settings will be adjusted to your preference.

Then when you want to create a new site, use your clone as the base, hire an outsourcer to do the final tweaks (publishing the content, making final plugin settings - some plugins will need to be tweaked after the set up because they don't play nice with cloning).

So you have one guy making the final tweaks to a site, one guy writing the content and one guy doing the backlinking. You can use Joe 118's backlink packets for that (I recommend his over Angelas - Angela's backlinks are great, but way too popular so webmasters tend to close down registration or go on a banning spree.)

I am currently doing this but for me it's tough getting all of the work lined up to keep my workers busy. Once you get through the first set up and document the tasks that need to be done, then you can hand off the instructions and focus your time on the niche research (which is what I love doing above all else)

    I would sugest you to:
create 10 minisites each month (use wordpress and free templates/plugins to improve the uqlity of the sites/blogs )
You make the keyword research .
And pay one person 300-400 $/month to write articles and submit them all day 24/24 lol ...
He must promote thorugh videos on youtube to write messages on FaceBook etc..
And also be careful on your templates, avoid ad blindness and other stufs.
    Be simple !
    Ok that's it for now...

    Take care !
