How I Decide What Products To Promote... Spontaneously

I have a ton of my own products, plus I often promote
clients' and JV partners' products... which I know
inside-out.

However, I do from time to time promote products that I
had not planned on promoting... and the reason that I do
is usually because an email about the product really grabbed
my attention, and then the sales page that I visited really
made me want the product... and was believable, and struck
me as something that my customers would want too.

When I notice people promoting my products, and I didn't
go after them directly as JV partners, I suspect that it's
for the same reason.

I sent out a promo today for just such a product and caught
myself asking "why"... since I did have a ton of other products
that people were asking me to promote... yet I chose one where
I had not even been asked directly to promote it.

I'm sure that many other marketers do the same thing which
suggest to me that if you have all of your ducks lined up...
and you have a product that the market actually wants, then
finding people to promote the product won't be that difficult.

Incidentally, this was an inexpensive digital product,
paying 50% commission.

Just food for thought.

I'm exactly the same, although I presume I'm not as in demand as you with people asking me to promote their product.

Twice in the last month I've promoted a $7 product because I got an email about it, liked it, bought it, and thought my customers would like it, too.

I've contacted some JV partners and they've replied saying something like "sorry, I have my promotion schedule sorted for the next six months."

    SIX MONTHS!

Maybe they're just trying to get rid of me, but if they really do have their emails scheduled six months in advance, then they are missing some huge opportunities and perhaps even sharing out of date products with their customers.

I do have some things flowed out months in advance, but that doesn't
mean that I can't fit something in at the last minute if I really want to...
and I would say the same is true for any marketer.

At the same time coordinating things far in advance, and offering
some type of reciprocity also helps.
