Good VPN site, I'm in China :/

Hi guys, can anyone recommend a good vpn site. I was using vtunnel but it's pretty spammy.

I don't log into anything, but sometimes I need to be able to watch videos.

I'm also considering just signing up for a vpn service... for mac.

But for now, just a site, where I can view the odd vid will do.

Cheers.

i was about to recommend TOR too..

TOR is a network which work on vidalia bundle...

basically it is like torrent which allows you to share your IP all over the world.

    it usually has decent speeds..

Been using Witopia for the past 4 or 5 years. They are affordable and have great 24/7 customer service.

Yes, by the way, I AM in the Witness Protection Program. I could tell you who I am but then I would have to kill you.

Hey dude, can you tell me how much witopia is? The site is blocked.

12vpn is $129 a year... They had a lite version for $30 and the unlimited was $69... seems it's almost doubled in price.

You might want to take a look at VPN4All. One of their biggest advantages is that they are based offshore (outside the US) so you're basically safe in case you are worried about Uncle Sam getting access to your online activities.

That's cheap dude... but I'd say that the service for China is more expensive... I seem to remember looking into this a while back.

If this is available for China, then it's a bargain.

I use SSH to get freedom on the net. If you have a hosting service with SSH access, you can use it to surf the net. It is much more stable.
Now I'm using Bluehost hosting service and use SSH to surf the net.
What's more, where are you in China?

I've been using the free Hotspot Shield (US-based VPN) for a couple of months now, and it works like a charm (thanks to WarriorForum's Rikki Fawkes for leading me onto it!).

When it's connected (and you can easily connect/disconnect it from your taskbar), all of your requests automatically get routed through it - not just your browser requests (like if you use a web-based proxy server).

US-restricted YouTube videos, and sites like Hulu, work fine through it.

You might consider it, anyway. I see no reason why there should be any restrictions on people connecting through it from China.

I live in China, presently using Reliable Hosting, cost me $99 a year, but it is USA based and kowtow to DCMA. They have a slightly differing attitude to copyright than China, it seems, sadly. And they expect me be party to their view even though my server is based in London and I live in China.

There is a free one proxpvpn, which does work, but is patchy, but free, so why complain. Interestingly, they never responded, when I asked their attitude to DCMA.

I will not renew with Reliable Hosting for DCMA reasons, so am following this thread with interest.
