DAMN you facebook pages!

ah no matter how i try i never seem to get this figured out

I think I am creating a facebook page, then I try to get it so that the URL is like

facebook.com/myfanpage

but instead it ends up being

facebook.com/44r3434r3rr4r

you know a bunch of numbers

Is there any information anywhere on Gods forsaken internet that clearly shows

1. how to create a fan page
2. how to change the url
3. how to promote them

      Unfortunately, with a new fan page, you have to get 25 fans first before you can create a custom URL.

      I just went through this with mine last month. It was some long thing with a number, but as soon as I hit 25 likes, I was able to shorten it "laminatedbookmarks"

      Promoting the fan page:
      I've just been using Twitter and my personal profile page, add it to your signature line in forums, add it to your blog links, etc.

    Hello:

    I think you have to have 25 fans first before you can have a vanity URL.

    25 is the magic number then go to the basic information section of your pages settings and you'll be able to check for a username to assign to your page.

    Create a page here: Create a Page | Facebook

    Once you have 25 fans go here: Login | Facebook

    To promote the page you need to use fan gating or some other method to get people to click the click button.

    Update it has to be exactly 180 x 540 for the sidebar, any lower or higher and doesn't appear to work ( well at least for me it didnt ) now mine is working
