Which guru would you recommend to study for content based website

Hey to everyone, been visiting the forum for a while and decided to register now.So I'm about to launch a content based website, doubting between putting all the info I've got for free online and monetizing from traffic-->ads ; or putting part of the info online while add the rest as a membership or a book. What's your opinion?

It's not some guru wannabe niche, meaning I won't be putting for sale techniques of how to get rich effortlessly and quickly while at the moment of writing I've got 100$ in my bank account. Therefore the main question is-which guru's materials would you recommend to study, someone who doesn't teach how to launch an ebook or dvd info series?Eben Pagan maybe?

Let me know your opinions.I'll appreciate them. Thanks!
Tony

While I personally don't believe in so-called gurus, if I were a newbie starting out today, I would read everything by Bill Platt I could get my hands on.

Jason Fladlien. This guy walks the talk. Check out his 7-minute technique of writing articles, and better still, how to turn an article into 8 different versions in record time. Think about this - if you can churn out 8 articles per day, in one week you will have your content-based website ready to go, with articles onsite and also offsite linking back to your site.

Here's his 7-minute article product (not an affiliate link) -

The instant someone calls themself a guru, you know they are faking it till they make it so to speak.

There is no such thing as a guru. Anyone earning a gazillion dollars a minute is. But I am yet to see that. So with that being said, there are no gurus in any niche.

    I rest my case.

timyang, thanks for the recommendation. And guys,no need to write 5 posts that there are no gurus,I corrected myself.
And I'd like to make clear the site is not going to be 10 different landing pages to sell an info product on a guru-esque with BIG RED LETTERS BUY IT NOW OR DIE type of sales page.

If you can recommend someone who can teach me techniques to make the people coming back for more and get a lot of traffic it would be great.

And give me your opinion what do you think is better-writing everything on the site for free or releasing a book, membership subscription. What attracts me in the former is that I plan to build a social network to the site and therefore if all the info is on board, the site will get more traffic and be more popular because of the great value it provides and then the social network would have better chance to thrive.

Thanks and please no off topic
